| Bobbie isn't well... Any ideas? It started yesterday night he poo'd in the house in front of the door he's never done that before had him for 2 months. He went out for his walk this afternoon and he was excessive sniffing of grass (or so I thought) came home and ate as normal then made a mad dash for the door and had a really watery poo with the grass I thought he was sniffing. My first reaction to it was he's just had fleas so I thought he may need worming I bought the drontal when I bought his advantage flea spot on treatment but never gave him it so wormed him tonight. He's his normal self apart from the iffy stomach barking etc... Could worms cause an iffy belly? And what is he eating grass for is it normal when a dog has a iffy stomach? Am keeping an eye on him now. |

| Sorry Bobbie is having problems. Probably not a tapeworm from fleas. Max had tapeworm once and it did not affect his tummy or poop. I wouldn't give the drontal unless you confirm a tapeworm. Any changes in diet, treats, or chews that could have upset his tummy? If he is still energetic and hydrated, I wouldn't worry too much at this point. Teddy has mysterious diarrhea about once a year. When it happens, I feed him steamed chicken and rice for a day or two to get his system back on track. If the diarrhea persists beyond a day or two, then I would check in with the vet.

| I would go to the vet and not use any wormer not given by a vet they can be unsafe. How old is he?

| I was told dogs will intentionally eat grass when they want to make themselves regurgitate. It is possible that his tummy is upset and he was trying to make himself throw up. If the loose stools continue, I would put him on a diet of boiled chicken and rice and take him to the vet ASAP. Diarrhea can come from many things: Parasites, food allergies, food change, IBS or IBD. Quote:

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog First watch the grass. Be sure no one sprayed it with poison. I have friend who has dogs with sensitive stomachs. Vet tells them to give pepcid. Possibly the food is causing stomach upset. Take your dog to a vet and see what's up. |
