| Anyones Yorkie stop growing at 5 months? Addie has grown pretty quick, by 20 weeks she reached 4.3 pounds. She's now 22 weeks and is still 4.31 pounds. She's all healthy and happy. Plenty of eating and walkies. Is this it for her growth? Or does it have pauses? T.I.A x

| Genetics determine growth patterns. My boys did not grow steadily. They grew in spurts, with a late growth spurt at 11 months. Teddy was just under 6 pounds at 8 months. He grew another 2 pounds by 1 year of age, and put on a pound of muscle his second year. Final weight: 9 pounds. Still a skinny little guy.

| Mine is 8 months old and he had growth spurts. They can grow up to a year and then fill out a bit more with muscle and stuff.

| Chewie had a huge spurt when we brought her home- of just under 2 pounds. She didn't gain anything but a few ounces here or there, and then she had her spay and packed on another 2 pounds and outgrew her xxxs clothing quite suddenly along with her harness. She lost a pound and a half but she's much bigger length wise. She holds steady at 3.8-4.3 pounds, and hasn't grown one inch since her spay month in July. She'll be a year old on Halloween, but I'm thinking she's done growing. So, I'm trying to say it's normal. They say the little guys stop growing usually by 8-10 months old. |

| I think it really depends on the dog. I have two - one that's 1 year and 5 months old (he is 7 lbs) and one that is 1 year and 4 months old (he is 3 lbs). In my case the bigger one stopped growing first. He had growth spurts early on and then stopped. The smaller one grew up until about 13 months. |

| Thanks all. She did grow quite quick at first between 12 and 16 weeks she had put on nearly a pound. Since its been an ounce a week and no change for just over 2 weeks. I'm guessing she's due a spurt xx
