YT 500 Club Member | My poor babies! ! An HOUR before I had Toby, Izzy, and Madelyn scheduled to get groomed, I took them with me to go to my cousins baby shower ( to save having to make a second trip across town to get them) and I put them in the back yard . Twenty minutes later one of the boys opens the door and they come running in and rubbing themselves all over the furniture and guests like crazy. Madelyn raises her head and her ENTIRE face is covered in these weird ,green , almost soft catipillar looking stickers! !! I scream and grab her up and two other people grabbed up Toby and Izzy cause they had them, too, just not nearly as bad, and we locked ourselves in the bathroom for the next hour cutting these hateful things out of their hair. Madlyn's were embedded in her face. She couldn't even SEE! They weren't the painful kind, but they were sticky , would not come out for anything! Ugh. So needless to say my groomer was so sad. She apologized to Izzy for five minutes before she started shaving her. And Madlyn had to be shaved completely head to toe. Toby, too, and his hair was long! And Toby, bless his violent little heart , just refuses to take to being sedated for grooming. He had 3 pills and was out cold until she started grooming him. Then adrenaline takes over and he isn't sedated anymore. Period. I came out of that one with only a fat lip and a few scratches that time. That's progress. I want to find out what shop those people before me had him groomed at before I got him and I want to go in there and do horrible things to those people for what they did to my Toby to make him so terrified still to this day. Because no one has done anything even remotely awful to him since I bought him, because I won't leave the room when he's being groomed. I won't. And now my groomer comes to me. But he is still terrified and he's almost two and a half now. They traumatized him. I remember when I got him, they had shaved him down and EMBEDDED a plaid bow tie into his chest that was so tight it took WEEKS for me to be able to get a tiny pair of scissors under it to cut it out. Ridiculous. So he hates being groomed. And 14 lbs of angry yorkie can be dangerous. Anyway. ..I would post pictures but I can't seem to do it from my phone. If I'm wrong about this, and there's a way to do it now from a phone please correct me.

| I've got one that hates baths and grooming too. She's 10 yrs and only 6 lbs but she will eat me up when I try to do anything to her. She's been like that since an early age after a grooming appt. I was waiting in the waiting room but something must have happened. My husband can bathe her but if he gets near her face she'll bite him too. Hope yours are all better now. Shaved but it will grow back eventually. |

| Poor babies!!! That must have been so traumatic for them to have those green things covering them all over their body and then to have you all get them off and then to be shaved like that. Horrible! That is so sad that your one baby is so very terrified of being groomed like that. I wonder if my mobile groomer does anything to upset my Joey because the last few times after she brings him in and puts him down he starts barking right at her and it seems to me like he is telling her to leave. Maybe just all in my head but I do wonder. One time I had a little poodle groomed by a mobile groomer and one time when the groomer came into the house she peed on the floor right next to me. Was that a cry to me or what? Makes you want to be right there with them to make sure they are treated right.

| How horrible, for both them and you! As you say, Toby must have gone through something truly awful in his past to make him react that way. Poor baby! We decided early on that we are going to keep Wookie with the puppy cut, and have invested in a good pair of clippers so we can do her ourselves. She trusts us, so it isn't too traumatic for her. She still doesn't like having a bath much though! |

YT 500 Club Member | Yeah...it's awful...for both of us.... but good news! I got out a pair of scissors the other day and Toby let me cut off his fu-man-choo beard he had going on. Without the least bit of a fight! I was so proud of him. I've started petting him with scissors in my hand and making the noise next to him without cutting anything so he gets used to hearing it.... he's wary but eventually he relaxes. I'm determined to work through this.
