| Help Hi everyone! Im from NJ and Im looking for a breeder. I don't mind driving to another state, however I don't want to go too far. I also have a budget, but Im not sure if its realistic for me to get a healthy, quality puppy for around 1000. This would be my first yorkie so Im not sure what budget I should have. Any suggestions are appreciated. |

| I don't have any specific breeder references to share, but here is good thread in the YT Library about finding a reputable breeder: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...e-breeder.html Yorkie prices tend to be higher in New England. Girls are typically priced higher than boys. Research and patience are key. Good luck!

| Thank you. Do I have a decent price range or should I change it? Also does anyone know any breeders in my price range? |

| I live in NYC and the lowest I have seen for a yorkie in the area can run around $2,500. I . I think your budget may be too low for the area.

| If you look in Pa. be very careful as there are many puppy mills in this state. Where ever you choose, make sure you see the puppy in person and it's parents. $1000. is kinda low for a reputable breeder. Back yard breeders which you MUST stay away from charge $1000 / $1200. that's NOT a bargain, you will pay much more down the road for vet bills for a sick puppy. $1500 / $1800.is a more realistic price from a reputable breeder and that is still on the low side. Females are more expensive then males. Good luck to you in your quest to finding that special little puppy.

| Thanks everyone. I never worked with a breeder so I wasn't sure what price range I should have. Are there any specific breeders you recommend? |
