| You can buy a four sided nail buffer at the drug store....works great. It makes your nails smooth and shiny |

| Okay, here's what I'd do: 1. Take off coat of polish with remover 2. wash with soapy water 3. dry well 4.Buff gently with buffing thing, gently smoothing away the rough bits 5. massage in some conditioning cream/oil Repeat step 5 twice a day and step 4 every 2 days. Tricky to know how bad it is or if it's sore because you're being so brave about it but if it's sore, see the Doc. Hope this helps - anyone else got advice to add?? |

| Well It's never been sore after he gnawed on the thumbnail I just thought the nail would eventually grow longer and the top layer would be back

| Not sure if he was gnawing on it with his teeth cause it had some scent of food after supper or what. He has 3 bags of toys and he's almost insistent I buy him something when I go to the store. He does like to bite my toes too. Grrr

I'm a bit worried though that your thumb nail sounds damaged and maybe you need someone (other than Dexter) to look at it. | |
