| Puppy training questions Hi, this is my first time posting so hopefully im in the correct spot. I have a 4 month old puppy. For the most part she is doing really well. I am having a couple issues. First potty training. She is completely pee trained. But maybe 50% poo trained. As in i maybe catch it once a day amd take her outside and she goes out there. She doesnt go to the door when she has to go at all (pee or poo) Second question is she likes to attack my my kids feet and legs when they walk past her. She is playing with them but this something im trying to get her not to do so she doesnt get hurt as the kids are walking past her. |

YT 500 Club Member | At 4 months sounds like she's doing well. You need to be on a schedule taking her out. After naps, 13 - 20 minutes after food, after play, or when ever she sniffs in circles. Even if you see her have an accident in the house take her out right than and command the potty terms you want to use. And mostly praise praise and praise when she does good. These little ones are so smart it won't take long. Remember if she has accidents in house say "no" and take her out. Please remember you have to be on your A game training these Angels o

For the feet attacks, you're right in that she's just playing, but that this behaviour should be corrected. I'd say...try to teach your kids to give your puppy the commands, "sit" and "stay". Obviously, you'll need to give these commands too. But each member of the family should be able to give these commands and your puppy should follow. It's the mentality that your kids are also leaders and that the puppy needs to respect your kids as much as she respects you. When your kids walk past your puppy, have them command her to sit or stay. If puppy is sitting, there shouldn't be any attacking. It takes a lot of patience and persistence, but as you're aware, it's all part of the puppy obedience training that will be well worth it in the end

| Ok thank you. We do a pretty good routine for potty time. And she comes outside about ever 3ish hours for potty.the accidents that she has for poop tell me she needs to poo at least 2 times a day. We are training for her to go otside. Ill keep going with how i am and work with her. Then i will also work with the kids on tell her commands so she starts to listen to them better. |

| Potty training takes time. You could take her poo outside where you want her to go so she knows that where you want her to go. If you can't watch her like a hawk she needs to be in a play pen that way you can bust her when she goes and tell her no. My girl was a feet nipper as a puppy and we had to use a squirt bottle and squirt her and say no when she does it.
