| My Yorkie Poo sheds. I didn't think Yorkie Poos sheds. Her name is Hollie but I got her for that reason. But I love her so much but she is shedding like crazy. Why can anyone tell me ? she is only 9 weeks old Last edited by Smileyspeck; 07-18-2016 at 03:25 PM. Reason: left her age off |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | That's very odd. Does her skin look okay? I would inspect her skin very thoroughly to make sure there isn't something like mange, which is common in puppies and can cause fur loss.

| It is quite strange I think for a nine week old puppy to shed at all! I would follow up with Ann's advice and check for a skin condition. Mange is actually transferable to people as well and is unfortunately highly contagious. Yorkshire terriers and poodles both do not shed. Although it is possible that your dog has an additional breed mixed in that is a shedding breed, j would say 'shedding like crazy' is not typical for a nine week old pup. I look forward to hearing how your little one is doing. Welcome to yorkie talk!

| My pup isn't mixed yet she's shedding quite a bit too (also 9 weeks old). When i've looked online some say it can be normal for some pups. She's has good food, has a decent shampoo and skin looks great so I think it is fine xx |

| Maybe they're blowing puppy coat? Even though they're supposed to be non-shedding dogs, they still do lose hair...just like us humans. Honestly, I shed a lot whenever I clean the floors, so much hair.

| My yorkie poo did not shed at all until she was about 2 yrs old. I thought they were not suppose to shed at all? Is that correct? Thank you |

| I had poodles before I became addicted to yorkies, my poodles never shed, neither did my yorkies. Just my personal experience.
