Here are my two adopted 9 month old Morkies. They are both from the same litter. I got to speak to their foster mom and told me that their birthday is Oct. 17th.

With selective breeding, you can probably create just about any color. Just breed darker and darker yorkies together. NOT A FAN.

I'm a dinosaur and a thousand years ago grew up on a dairy farm. When one of our dogs had puppies, those pups were all kinds of cute, with all kinds of 'dads.' And those puppies were described as Heinz 57 Variety, mutts, etc; we were lucky to give 'em away. Who knew we were raising 'designer' dogs in our barn?!?!!

Lol! Where I am from that is what I remember too. Lots of free puppies and kittens...not designer dogs, mutts. Cute mutts. But mutts none the less.

Put a link to an article about Merle coloring since it was mentioned, I have read about it before and thought the auditory/vision issues that show up with Merle breedings were actually fascinating. I haven't heard of 'Merle yorkies' yet and I hope I don't. I really appreciate that we have a breed with traits I can for the most part depend on. I am grateful for our breed and I hope to keep its integrity and improve on its faults.

I'm a Biewer breeder but I don't understand all the colors of the Yorkies. I understand Parti but gold Yorkies, ocean pearl Yorkies, etc.

Heinz 57 is what mix dogs were called, today they are designer dogs, like USED cars are now "pre owned" cars lol.
