YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Gotta love these doggies All three of mine 2 big 1 wee dog are happily chewing on their raw bones. The two big ones have finished and only Razzle is still chewing away. I usually allow about 2 hrs on bone knawing. Next is face baths for them all, and teeth cleaning. I try to do this once maybe twice per week although recently I have slipped in the consistency. Bones do a wonderfull job on their teeth.

| How do you keep them from dragging the bones all through your house? Once I give mine something like that they are off, running through the house. Also, what kind of bones do you use..is there any meat on the bones?

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Easy they have their bones in their crates. I never allow them free run of the house with a bone. Too tasty, and too dangerous, as or if a dog goes for some elses' bone. I sometimes have one outside in our fenced in backyard. and the other two in their crates. What type of bones? I have used beef or bison bones usually. Big thick bones for the big dogs and for Razzle he can have a rib bone or a small knuckle bone. The bones have a bit of meat on them - but what the dogs love is the marrow and that is what they know to chew to get to. I feed my dogs raw btw.

| What a great idea! Do you ever give them raw chicken bones? Like chicken thigh bone or drumstick bone? Or is it always beef/bison? Thanks!!

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I will give turkey necks, but not the chicken for the big ones. A thigh chicken bone for Razzle would be okay (my yorkie). Turkey necks are cartilagenous but still chewey n tastey.

| Piper would love to have Razzle-type bones. I don't mean to be obtuse or pesky, but as it's so critical she's safe, could you please describe the bones you give Razzle, where to purchase, etc? And after their two hours are up, do you discard bones or save for next chomping session? And how are bones kept after purchasing and prior to dispensing--fridge, freezer...? Again, I apologize for my ignorance in this area, but if I know it's truly safe for my Piper, I'd just love to give her a real bone because I'm quite certain it would be her most favorite thing everrrrrrr! GEMY, thank you so very much for your time in educating me in this area; truly. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Chicken necks would be fine for Razzle 0 I buy the turkey necks as they are larger n better for the big ones. I buy one turkey neck for razzle cut into 4 pieces as opposed to one turkey neck cut into 2 pieces for the biggies.

Gemy, can I assume they're kept frozen before chewin/consumption? And what to do when the bone is down to a small size - chuck it out to prevent choking? I'm completely ignorant in this area too! But totally love the idea!

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Sorry yes I keep them frozen and actually give them frozen to the doggies. Once they are done they are thrown out immediately. I would not risk saving a chewed bone once it has been thawed and knawen on.

| I had inexpensive small washable throw rugs, one for each dog, (3 in all) they were trained to STAY on those little rugs that were in the kitchen for bone chewing time. When I would take those rugs out my pups knew what they were getting and go to their designated spaces lol , I could also watch how much of the bone they chewed so it could be taken away when needed.

| Amidst all the chaos that comes with having a Yorkie and/or multiple canine units, what you describe today sounds rather idyllic...! Enjoy every minute...Other than being a bit too warm (mid-90s), Sparks is enjoying a beautiful day as well. Piper and I went out early this morning and are now enjoying a cool rest on the couch |
