| Well - at least you know it doesn't hurt. He just doesn't like it. Tell him, he ought to try getting a permanent and getting his nails done sometime. We women go through a lot more than that all the time! My 8-week old pup's ears were up when I got him and then they went down. A month or so later, I removed a lot of hair off his ears (weight) --and they went right up. But, they may have gone up anyway - I'll never know. And my dog has "huge ears," so there's always hope. The funny thing I noticed is that he looks much bigger with his ears up - and he is actually about two inches taller - but it's his ears adding the height. **** My dog's weight is about the same as yours - The last time I weighed him - at 17 weeks, he was 5 1/4 pounds...so, he's up and growing. He had a 12 pound mother and a 4 1/2 pound father!!!! Carol Jean |

| Oh he's so cute poor baby. How long do you have to keep his ears taped? There is a boxer in the area where I live and I'd say it's been about 5 months and his ears are still taped. I was wondering if it was a home job because it seemed like such a long time. |

| The vet said a week if he leaves it on that long. He is not messing with them much. we may have to retape if they don't stand, but I don't know if I will. We had shaved his ears a week ago but it made no difference in them standing. But, he is not too upset running, playing and eating and doing his sitting and leash training really good. This is the first time his eyes have ever shown up green in a picture they are usually blue. Go figure. |

| So, wait.....is it common to have to do this? I'm a new Yorkie mommy and had never heard of this. My little baby is almost 11 weeks old and her ears are still standing. At what age would they start to drop? I love the little perky ears!

| My little Meeko has had the hair off his ears for a while now, but his ears still seem to drop a lot. Is there anything wrong with leaving them droopy, or should I have them taped? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali's ears have been up since I first saw her at 6 weeks. She is now 7 months and they have stayed up. I do keep the hair of of them, but I think it just depends on the dog if the ears are up or down.
