I keep Pepcid on hand. If anyone throws up, I withhold food for 8-12 hours and dose Pepcid. If they vomit after that or won't eat, they go to the vet for cerenia +/- fluids. Two of mine are almost 16 too, I'm aggressive with treatments because it needs to be nipped in the bud immediately where possible. I also feed bland food. Hope he still is doing well.

I gave him some Pepcid and I wish I had video recorded it!! His reaction was hilarious... He jumped and landed in his water bowl and looked at me like I was insane for even attempting to give it to him. He's on 3 meds now to treat the infection in his liver and he is already acting much better. His appetite is back and he's drinking and playing with his favorite teddy. We go back in 2 weeks to retest the liver function. But it seems as though it was caught early enough and the vet seems very positive for a full recovery.
