| Eye allergies Peawee is allergic to something and we can't figure out what it is. The skin around his eyes get so red and swollen. The vet did give me a cream that I have to rub on them. I personally would rather fix the problem rather than the symptom. I've also been told to give benadryl. Has anyone else tried it. I was worried about the safety after all he is only 5lbs.

| My dog has allergies all over eyes being one of the places and we are putting a cream on him also. Benadryl is very safe to use and I would use it itt will probably give some relief. My dog is on prednisone.

| The cream medicine works pretty fast though. My dog has been on it since Friday and his eyes are much better.

| what food do you feed? A lot of the time, dogs have food allergies and vets will rarely suggest it. I can't tell you how many people come in and we suggest tht, they try a different food and come back going, "why didn't my vet tell me about this?!" It could be that. Try switching to a food with no wheat, corn, chicken. You could always have them allergy tested as well by your vet. That's just one thing it could be. Other than that, I would see what is in everything you're using on them topicaly.
