| New England Breeder who does agility/obedience competition Hi All, I am looking to get a second Yorkie. And I am looking for a breeder whose dogs do agility, obedience and or rally. And who like to bring in a sire for the breeding so the dogs maintain health in their genetics. I live in Boston and am willing to travel a little bit so any names who you trust would be appreciated! Thank you! Jill |

As for bringing in a sire to maintain health, I think you're referring to genetic diversity. My kennel is very diverse, most are working with closer breeding. There are reasons for doing it either way. To get a good picture of what a breeder is doing, ask for the pedigrees of any puppies you are considering. If you see the same name on both sides of the parentage, question it from more than one source. Good luck!

| Best of luck with your search! It is fairly rare to find a Yorkie that is "titled on both ends". I do agility with my Yorkie and am working with a local breeder who is letting me work with her champions for obedience and agikity -- having a lot of fun with it, and I am studying how well this activity promotes health as they age. But I done live near you. For agility the knees, legs and hips are so very important and the CHIC Test if done right will help with that decision. Keep us posted on what you find.
