| Oh no! How old is she? Is the problem caused by her stance when she is going potty, or is it maybe because her poop is too wet/not formed? When Teddy was young, he would often get so excited about his walks that he would have a wet stool that required a booty wash. We had to wash his back end almost daily. If it's not a behavioral thing, you might want to consider changing her diet.

| You can trim her back hair, Keep the hair around the anal area very short. As Maximo stated if the poo is too wet she may still get it stuck to her and a mini booty bath may be required, or try unscented baby wipes.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If this happens as much as you're implying, then I have to think that she must be having mushy / grainy or unformed stools -- is that the case? If so, then she needs a change in food asap as her current food is causing her GI issues. Did you change her food or anything?

| I trim the anal area for Emma. Even sometimes with a formed stool if her hair is too long it may get caught so she'll scoot to try and get it out and it makes it worse hence a bath shortly after. Although, others have given some feedback if the stools are soft/wet she may need a change in diet given stools should be more firm.

| Trimming booty hairs is necessary I use medical or sewing scissors and have one person hold and the snip cuz it tickles and he jumps! I also use human tush wipes before bath time...anyways like they're saying if it's straight runs constantly talk to a vet if you've recently changed diet it's common as long as it's not that long of a time period

| Soft, gummy treats (riceflour) are a no-go in our house. Took us a while to figure out but it is like pooping soft wax to Ziva |

| I figured out its the treats I was giving her every time she used the potty pads. So I'm just giving her one once a day and the other times she goes she gets belly rubs! She's happy. Thanks everyone for your feedback. |

He and Pip have their butts shaved, our bare butt Yorkies. When they poop or wee, we say 'wipe your butt' and they walk over and turn their butts to us to wipe. Our daughter thinks it's hilarious. We're crazy small dog owners now. Does she almost sit it in, because she's so small or is it the long hair..or both?
