| A new treat for Lacy that turned into a Monster So, I bought a new treat for Lacy. It is the same one I sent to Joan and her Cody LOVED it! The Everlasting Ball Treat. Well, Lacy went nuts over it also, but in a totally different way. She was scared to death of it! Just kept barking and screeching and on and on, and getting very agitated, until I hid it away. She thought it was a monster. I got it on video, but don't know how to post a video here. Omg, these little ones are so funny. What are YOUR pups afraid of? Lacy is also terrified whenever the dishwasher runs. The first few times I ran it and she was in the kitchen, no problem. But it is noisy, so one night I decided to start it at 2am after I was asleep, so I wouldn't have to listen to it. But lacy woke me up clawing at the iris pen and whining and when I picked her up, she was shaking so bad. I couldn't understand what had scared her. Then I realized the dishwasher was on. So I cuddled her for 15 minutes and put her back in her pen. Fifteen minutes late, she woke me up again, clawing at the pen trying to get out. This happened three times. Did not get a lot of sleep. Yesterday, I ran it in the morning, and she freaked out again. Omg, she was SO scared. But this time I did not pick her up and cuddle her because I read here that you should not do that, or she will think I am comforting her from something bad and will never accept it, so I had to leave her be, which was SO difficult to do. She cowered in the corner for over an hour. So sad. I felt like a terrible mom.

| Mario loves his two different kinds of everlasting treat balls. Only trouble is they are "shortlasting", not everlasting, around here . I have to put the treats in upside down before they last long enough to make it worth the money. Mario was afraid of balloons, but I got him over that. Then I had a plastic glass upside down on the floor protecting an area I had repaired and he went nuts over a cup in HIS floor. He managed to master that in a fairly short order too, but boy our world was noisy until then.

| Piper won't admit to be afraid of much and I'm very proud of her determination to be tough. However, on one of his first visits to Piper, my friend dropped his cane which fell noisily and close to Piper. I just thought uh-oh, the scene has been set--and understandably so--for Piper to avoid the cane and therefore my very wonderful friend, but she surprised me and now is just very watchful of and sets her pace to remain a bit behind her favorite new buddy (sooo proud of my good girl). Piper does hate, hate, hate, the clang of grocery carts as they're pulled out and that basket thing falls forward. I'm sure fellow shoppers think I'm nuts as I carefully and slowly roll cart forward all the while holding the basket until gently and quietly opening same. It's an easy fix for a loud, obnoxious sound (especially to those highly-tuned canine audio units), so why not?! |

| Chewie is afraid of the vacuum, he finds a spot on the couch and just sits and watches til its put away. Remote control cars, same thing. He is also terrified of the basement/freezer and I'm not sure why, but if I happen to be holding him and even reach into the freezer with the arm not holding him, he thinks he's going to be put in there!! Lol

| They are afraid of so many things: Bubba-thunder and lightening, rain because it sometimes comes with thunder The raspberry sound, the vacuum, the washing machine Sissy-the vacuum, walking across a bridge with water running under it, little kids. Mayzoo, thanks for the hint on the everlasting treat balls-they don't last long here either.

| omg, these Yorkies are just too funny. Wish they weren't so scared of so many things. Yet, when they see BIG dogs, they are not scared and think they are bigger and want to put them in their place. My last two Yorkies weren't scared of anything, so it is taking me awhile to adjust to the fact that Lacy is terrified of things. I sure hope she get over her fears.
