Piper won't admit to be afraid of much and I'm very proud of her determination to be tough. However, on one of his first visits to Piper, my friend dropped his cane which fell noisily and close to Piper. I just thought uh-oh, the scene has been set--and understandably so--for Piper to avoid the cane and therefore my very wonderful friend, but she surprised me and now is just very watchful of and sets her pace to remain a bit behind her favorite new buddy (sooo proud of my good girl). Piper does hate, hate, hate, the clang of grocery carts as they're pulled out and that basket thing falls forward. I'm sure fellow shoppers think I'm nuts as I carefully and slowly roll cart forward all the while holding the basket until gently and quietly opening same. It's an easy fix for a loud, obnoxious sound (especially to those highly-tuned canine audio units), so why not?!
