New to Yorkie world! Hi, I'm a new Yorkie owner and this is my first small dog. We lost our three "senior citizens", 15, 13 and 7 (who was our great dane), over the past year and after much thought decided a small dog may be better for me. Zoee is 10 weeks old tomorrow and is doing really well. She is smart, quick to learn, and energetic. I took her into the vet when I first got her and he said she was a beautiful pup and very healthy. I wanted to find a forum that gave information and support and here I am. I look forward to learning all I can so I can be a good Yorkie Mom! Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Owning this little girl has been such good therapy for me. Suffering from advanced osteoarthritis in the feet and knee makes it difficult to get up and moving each day, although that's the best thing for me. Zoee gets me up each morning, takes "me" out several times a day, and takes "me" on two short walks. She is patient with me, always waiting for me to come along. She is learning her command so quickly and even has cut down on the nipping my hands to the point I only have to tell her once. Even if she does forget, she is gentling her bite. This is a whole new world, having a small dog, and a wonderful world it is.

Welcome! I'm new here too, but know you will LOVE your sweet girl like a child, I think?Yorkies are the best breed for so many reasons! My Loki has had issues with nipping too, he's almost 12 weeks and with the consistent and firm nos he has almost cut it out completely

I'm a "newbie" and haven't found my yorkie-love yet, but I try to sneak off with a friend of mine's whenever she brings him around (lol). We recently lost our llasa apso, who we nursed to the end of his days, which would've been 14 yrs on my birthday (1-22). He even had wheels for the past year. We're broken-hearted, but both ready for that special yorkie-love. I'm looking for info re reputable breeders here in MI and am not going to purchase one at a pet store. I've seen what inbreeding does to precious animals and it makes me angry. So hopefully this will be fun, informative and a blessing! Hoping to get to know "you"
