| She's not herself :( I have a one year old yorkie girl who has not been herself for over a week now. She lays around, won't play, and just looks sad. We had a foster dog that was here when she came that recently got adopted, so I'm not sure if she's just sad and missing the foster or its something else. She also had her vaccines around the same time so could that have her not feeling well? I just don't know |

| Wow, could be either/or/both. My heeler mix was sick, sluggish from her shots. Buddybear didn't show any reactions. Our golden retriever never showed any problems. Best to keep an eye on her just in case.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Vaccines wouldn't cause her to still not be feeling well...but missing her buddy may be causing her to feel a little down. Hee...maybe you need another yorkie???

| Vaccines wouldnt long time cause a dog to be down maybe cause them to be out of sorts a day or two. The grief from the foster dog leaving could cause it that would be more long term

| My heeler was acting odd for 4 days or so. Hope your baby is back to her normal actions by now.

IF you feel it might be the vaccines, I'd say call the vet. Did your furbie get along with the foster well? If so, that'd be more evidence that she's missing her friend. | |

| Sorry I went offline for awhile. She was pretty close with the foster. She's gotten better, not her old self, but better. |

| I have had dogs pout for a few days after vaccinations but usually it passes. If the dog moves wrong when the needle is in it can cause a little soreness but should only last a couple days. My guess would be she is missing her friend. I wonder if the other dog is feeling badly as well. Is there anyway you can talk to the new owner? Is your baby eating and pottying normally? |

| When my 6 y/o (the baby) lost her two older sisters 6 months apart, she grieved for 7 months, she was just not her lil clown self, I took her to her most fav. places to perk her up, nothing helped. She needed a BFF. so my search started for perfect pal for her. When I came home with with a puppy it was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, my 6 y/o became her comic lil self and she ADORED the new kid. If your baby is grieving it could take time, if I was in your shoes I would have taken her to the vet to make sure nothing else was going on, but that is just me. 6 months have now passed, she should be getting back to her ole little self, unless, you have had more fosters and she is missing them too. Good luck.

| My matriarch yorkie became very close to my mother when she moved in with me....she almost took on an attitude/position of protector-guardian of my elderly mother.....it was an amazing thing to see. After mom died, that precious yorkie missed her as much as we all did, and she mourned her loss for several years, wandering around the house looking for momma. I remember when I finally could stomach "cleaning out" my mothers closet and boxing all her clothes up (3 years after she had died!), my precious little yorkie stayed right in the room with me, I think she thought I was looking for momma in the closet.....she saw mommas shoes that she wore everytime she left the house to go shopping or something, and she got so excited "finding" those shoes were back....that clearly meant momma was somewhere in the house, and that little dog spent HOURS looking in every room, for momma. One day easily 4-5 years after momma died, I had my little dog with me in the car, as we had gone to pick jimmy up from work....he works at Kroger. That baby girl instantly realized where we were, but she thought we were there to get momma....and dam if a little old lady that looked alot like momma, pushed her basket to her car which was parked NEXT to where I was parked, my little yorkie went nuts with excitement, thinking momma was finally comming home.....she could not understand why that little old lady was not getting into OUR car, and she was clearly so upset and confused when the elderly lady left in that other car......it broke my heart and brought me to tears....and that happened easily 5 years after momma had died. I am not sure Aija EVER got over momma not being with us in the house, and she would wistfully look for her occasionally, from room to room, until she too passed. It used to break my heart and moved me to tears on numerous occasions. I do not think Aija ever completely forgot her dear friend, my momma, and she often looked for her longingly in other rooms. I have no dispute or doubt, your baby could well be missing her friends that are no longer there....perhaps she needs ANOTHER friend to help fill that empty place in her little heart! |

During my parents life I had a peek-a-poo, Lucky, my Dad would call me & ask if I had something to do, mostly I did, & he would say "Bring Lucky over to stay with us". Oh, how I terribly miss those days. Thank you for sharing your story. I do believe the little girl misses her playmate.

| Thanks all! She is pottying and eating fine. Unfortunately another playmate is not an option at this time. Thanks for all the touching stories. |
