| Neutering jitters I'm so nervous....tomorrow my lil baby will be neutered. I hate to put in thru that pain. I hope he doesn't hate me for it. What if he gets mad at me and acts different towards me afterwards?? Thoughts? Suggestions? Advice? All will be appreciated. |

| I don't think pups make a connection if hating you and being neutered. We do a lot of things that they hate and are awake for. Kaji still loves his vets after shots, and loves me after nail clippings, baths, and brushing his hair. He HATES all of that, but still loves me.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It *will* be okay, it really will! But I totally understand your worry and concern. Just be sure to go home w/ pain meds AND with a pain plan; ask what you're supposed to do if the pain does NOT appear to be managed - what then? That's what you really need to know, esp if your vet isn't open 24hrs for questions.

YT 1000 Club Member | Please don't worry! He will not associate it with you and he will not be in much pain. My boy was neutered 2 months ago and he was fine. I gave him a pain pill the day after just to make sure he was comfy, but I am not sure he needed it. My boy was totally fine and no side effects and he is exactly the same dog 2 months later that he was before he was fixed. Dogs don't realize what is missing anyway. Mine is still the same loving and wonderful little boy that he was a few months ago. Your little guy will be fine and he will just be happy to see you when you pick him up so keep up your spirits as he will pick up on you being upset or worried. Just be happy to see him. Be careful with him and how you pick him up that first day or two as I did pick mine up and made him cry and I felt terrible. That was the only time he showed any sign of pain and it was within hours of me bringing him home. The next day he was tired, but didn't appear to be in pain. Relax and everything will be fine. Good luck!
