You have to move at a pace YOU are comfortable with. I got another little girl soon after I had lost my first yorkie to a vet overdosing her with a sedative, (which he admitted he did).....and I had a tough time bonding with that little girl...I knew immediately I had made a decision and I was not ready for another puppy....but I fell in love with that darling.....that was my precious little Aija that I had for over 15 years.... You have to move at a pace you are comfortable with....but dont feel guilty....your little Chloe wouldnt want that at all....a new baby will not take her place in your heart and soul, and Chloe knows that....this new baby will carve out a niche in your heart all by itself!! That is OK, and perfectly normal!! You will know when you are ready...if you feel you are ready, Chloe will welcome a new pup in her mommas life.....not to replace Chloe, and she knows that, but to start a new love with a new little soul that needs you! You will know when you are feeling ready....and Chloe will be ready when you are!

I'm so sorry for your loss... I saw this a while back and it suddenly popped in my head. Perhaps it's your furbaby's way of sending you a message...

I have read all your stories and I am sitting her with tears falling down my face. My heart breaks for all of you. My yorkie (Rocky) is only 3 so I pray I have many many more years with him. They become a part of you. Whatever your decision is on getting another dog, good luck and I hope your heart stops hurting so much soon :-)

It is not disrespectful. The new pup will not be Chloe, but will remind you of some special memories. I think Chloe would want to comfort you, and if a new pup is what you need then go for it.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Last Oct 19th we lost our Miss Gracie she lacked 6 wks of being 15. She was a smaller Yorkie only 3 lb and it was her heart that finally gave out. She was slightly restless one night but not bad and nothing that alarmed us or saw any signs of something we should have seen to. The next morning she died in my husband's arms. We have been married for over 30 yrs and no children, - need I say more about what these Yorkies mean to us. She was our fourth. Every one has a special place in our hearts and all the memories. Would say something every once in a while about getting another one and Hubby said "I told you I do not want another one, I am not getting that close to another Yorkie again like I did with Gracie, it just hurts too much when they go" This past April I finally had the strength to emailed the show breeder we got Gracie from with out my tears shorting out the keyboard. She shows Yorkies, but sometimes in her breeding program she has one that is going to be too small to show. I thanked her for letting us share Gracie's life and what she meant to us and in the future I hope we would be able to have another one. Again, hubby against it. In middle of July got a call from her and she had a litter of three and two were going to be too small to show and because she knew how we cared for the smaller Yorkies and how we had treated Gracie she offered them to us. The female she said was going to be smaller than the male. I knew I wanted the female right off and hadn't even said anything to him. Well it didn't go over well with him because of the love he still has (and I also) for Gracie. After about a week of asking him if he would at least facetime with her to see the pup, he finally said yes. After all what could happen during a "facetime" - well I already had fallen in love with the idea and when he saw her in 48 hours he came to me and said go on and get the contract on her. Well that meant the little boy was going to not be with his sister anymore. So within another 48 hours, hubby came and told me to tell her to make the contract for both. Last Wednesday I flew to pickup both pups, they are 4 1/2 months old, S/N, had all shots and were ready to go. I saw them and my love just grew more. Wish Hubby had been with me to experience the first meeting and seeing them, but when he picked us up at the airport it was love at first sight. He has these cute little sayings he would say to Gracie and a couple of them popped out. This past weekend we haven't hardly had the TV on. He pushed the stroller last night for me as I had my Poodle - 6 lb - on leash (my mother died and this was her dog that we have had for 3 1/2 yrs) Our cheeks are sore from laughing and smiling over these babies. It is wonderful !!!!!!! I was ready to have the magic back in the home before he was, but had to wait and the wait turned out to be double what I had prayed for. You will know when it is time and your heart will tell you. Now I am trying to remember all the commands we had learned for Gracie, and all the potty training ideas, etc. Our Show Breeder is 100% on top of her game and is only a text or phone call away. I have had Yorkies before I married so for the past 34 years been able to have those wonderful Yorkie kisses. Still in learning mode about this breed and all I can say is - they steal our heart, make your smile, bring your blooddpressure down to zero when you look at them, make you laugh, always glad to see you, take the troubles and cares away, and just give you 100% unconditional love, plus too many other things to mention. No one can tell you when it is time, but your heart will know it is time. We never forget our other babies and one day we will all be together again. Best of luck in your decision !!!!!
