| ![]() So, what do you use on them every day before you brush so you don't brush a dry coat? Thanks!

I do their top knots maybe every other day or so, sometimes longer. I do use a little bit of hair gel by Pet Silk. It conditions the hair & tames any fly away hairs. When they did have floor length hair, I used a lot of diff products. I especially like Pet Silk Show Ring Mist & Silk Sheen. Very light, can be used everyday w/out any build up or stickiness. I have a select few fav items in my site. Pure Paws Silk Basics Conditioning Spray is very nice too.

| ![]() Everybody has their own method. Gracie has a long coat so I comb her hair first to get all the snarls out. Then I brush her. Brushing a long coat with tangles in it can often break the hair. Because Gracie's hair is long she gets a bath once a week and I always use an all natural shampoo and conditioner that is minus the sulfate and other chemicals that strip the skin and coat. I also use a spray conditioner between baths to keep her coat smooth and silky and easy to comb. Doing a quick comb through at least once a day keeps her looking nice and prevents any matting from getting started. Long haired dogs do require some extra attention but if grooming is done on a regular basis it is not really very time consuming. |
