Chewing things: dogs are like toddlers and you have to keep things out of their reach. It's a safety issue in addition to protecting your valuables. Sunglasses and shoes are easy to keep out of reach.

| ![]() Long while back I had a sweet, intelligent, well-trained German Shepherd who became a little nervous when it got real windy. One howling of a wind storm night, she crawled up in bed with us, making herself as small as possible (too cute). Boyfriend made some disparaging comment about her coming between us, I liked her more than him...whaa, whaaa, whaaaa...to which I responded, "You know what? She's scared, she's staying on the bed, and besides, she'll be around long after your gone." Need I mention that my girl and I spend many happy years alone together without the whiny ex-boyfriend. My girl was more understanding, loving, reasonable, fun and steadfast than most 'boyfriends.' I never-ever put any guy before one of my canine units---ever! A good man would never ask you to choose, an intelligent man would know better knowing the choice, and a sensitive loving man would have no need to ask the question, but would share in your joy and love both you and your little one--problems or not. |

| ![]() Loose the boyfriend. He sounds like a creep anyway. And you MUST train this dog as well. Boyfriend or not- she's walking all over you. |

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() All you need is love and a dog. Don't need a boyfriend complaining about your yorkie. My husband steps over fences smells dog food and trips over dog toys. Jojo will bark and charge after him. He loves me so he allows me to have my yorkies. Get some training for the yorkie and let that boy know how precious the love of a dog is. A faithful loyal companion is the dog. Dog stays. I would not let him move in. Date him and if he and dog don't jive it's a lot easier to say goodbye if he and stuff aren't comfy in your home. |

This will be his first demand...more will inevitably come along and in the end, when you don't have him, you will wish you had her.

| ![]() Omg! I am in exact same situation, our arguing got so bad I've moved out with my yorkie. My bf asked me to get rid of him, but I love him and moved out. I'm now really focusing on toilet training! |

She does need to work on training, but that is not the real issue here in my opinion...the real issue is HIM. I have zero tolerance for people like him. As someone said, he knew this before he moved in....BS to move in and make such demands. Clearly he didn't have anything much to offer....she didn't move into his home...it was the opposite. Sounds like she had more to offer him.

Now that the boyfriend has moved in and attempted to take control, you should really think long and hard if this is what you want your life to be (without your little love bug). I hope you come back and say he is gone. The pup deserves to live in her own home and be loved, adored and treasured every single day of her innocent, trusting little life. I don't think you will ever look back and regret letting him go and keeping your precious baby.
