| Too many variables....depends on part of the country you are in, depends on the service you use...some are better, more reputable services than others and you will pay more for better services.... We had a sitter come in twice a day for 3 hours total...this was when I was a kid and still lived at momma's...we just had a Chi and my brother's Beagle....she charged $85.00 for 3 hours a day, for two dogs. That covered playing in the yard for an hour each visit, cleaning up poo, feeding and fresh water for the 30 additional minutes each visit....she watered 4 plants on the patio, and brought the mail and paper in....and this was back in 1968-1969-1970, when we went on vacations. I have no idea what they would charge now...this was an excellent service, run by an ex-police officer and wife....fabulous, trusted service.....they did an excellent job and our dogs adored them! Have no idea what those prices have gone up to!!!! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 08-26-2015 at 05:20 PM. |

YT 1000 Club Member | It depends on who you know and who you have coming in. I take care of my friend's dogs for $10 a day. This includes going to their house 3-4 times per day and letting their dogs out. I bring in their mail and spend some time at each visit playing with their animals. I feed them of course whatever their schedule is and make sure they have water at every visit. These people are within a few miles of me, most are neighbors that I can walk to though so no gas needed when I am only going 3 blocks or less. I am sure I am very cheap, but I like to help them out. Their dogs get to stay at home and still be cared for without being kenneled at a strange place. I make money and they save by not paying kennel prices. I am sure other people charge a lot more than me, but as a stay at home mom if I watch their dogs for a week and make $70 that is awesome for me and only a bit of work that I don't mind doing.
