| New Member saying hello!! Hi Everyone! I am new to the forum. I have wanted a Yorkie for close to 30 years, but never told my husband, as he thinks Yorkies are too little to be considered "real" dogs. Well, I mentioned that I had wanted one for so long, and next thing you know, I have Penelope Pipsqueak! Isn't he a sweetie? She may not be a "real" dog, but I always catch him giving her little kisses LOL. And every morning, he outs her little harness on and takes her outside. Watching a grown man put a coat on a little dog all the while "complaining" that the dog is a Foofoo. LOL I know I will have loads of questions, though. I am currently researching potty training, because Penny is being awful stubborn in that area. Me, I am in heaven. I have waited for this for a very long time! |

Hi! Lucky you! You're baby is adorable! I'm new to the forum as well, and I've been wanting a Yorkie for several years. My boyfriend (now fiancé) was much like your husband until I really started researching and learning about the breed and sharing my new found knowledge with him. After showing him countless pictures and a couple of cute YouTube videos, he finally agreed that he'd like to have TWO Yorkies. I hope to have my baby by the Spring of next year. Best wishes. | |

| Your DH is about to find out that yorkies are not FOO-FOO dogs lol. he will soon discover what you both have is a BIG dog in a small body lol. | Thank you, everyone. We have had her for almost 8 months now. The first thing I discovered was that Penny is NOT a Foofoo. She took down the cat (3 times her size at the time) almost immediately. And we have another dog that is 4 times Penny's size that Penny also rules over. Then, when taking her outside to potty, and her romping through snow deeper than her, I knew that maybe these dogs aren't as fragile as I thought. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Welcome to Yorkietalk! My two Yorkies agree with your husband, they don't consider themselves dogs either. Sounds like your husband is falling in love.

| I had a precious tiny little boy named Bumper...he barely weighed 2 lbs....my friend who was a seamstress, sewed tons of tiny little adorable vests for him....she did a tiny little "leather" vest that had fringe all around it, even had a tiny little cap and both had the flying wings of Harley Davidson Motorcycles on them. When a motorcycle shop that has been in Houston for 40+ years, built a new gorgeous sales outlet, and everyone was invited to a huge open house event for the grand opening, I took tiny little Bumper to the grand opening and he was THE HIT of the opening!!! These HUGE bikers, some 250-300+ lbs, fell in love with that tiny little 2 lb pup with his Harley Davidson outfit on.....what a day for little Bumper!!! |

YT 1000 Club Member | Welcome! I totally understand where you are coming from. I wanted a Yorkie for years. My husband said no way, they are too small. In January I was given a 9 year old Yorkie and brought him home. My husband likes him well enough. Then we got 2 Yorkie mix pups and one is my teenage daughters but the other is mine and his. He adores that puppy! He comes home from work and all the dogs greet him at the door. He will pet my older Yorkie, but then my older Yorkie comes back to me. The babies however adore him. He picks them up and they lick his chin and chew on his bit of beard he has. He will carry our puppy around at Lowe's. He always said we would never own a small dog and now we have 3! LOL He loves our puppy. Our daughter's puppy loves him too and he thinks she is a cutie.
