| Your opinions would be greatly appreciated! Ok. This is Lambeau. I don't want to ask the question of "is he a real yorkie?" Although at times..I've questioned it. But I'm even more so wondering, considering he is a Yorkie, is this dramatic of a change normal? The bottom pic is of him the day we got him at around 9 weeks. The top pic is recently approximately 4 months or so. Granted. .he's a little scraggly. He needed brushing and he's never been groomed. I'm trying to let his hair grow before his first groom. Which seems slow go. He's changed drastically! I'm not saying it's a bad change. .he's adorable. |

| Thanks for replying everyone. I have only doubted him being 100% because of his hair growth. But maybe I'm totally off on how it's supposed to be from month to month lol. I have another yorkie that's 6. She was a rescue and we got her at age 4. So all of her color/coat changes were in place. She's the ideal tan/blue. |

| Thanks for replying everyone. I've only doubted his authenticity because of his coat/color. His coat seems to be very slow growing. Which I know can be normal. |

| He looks all yorkie to me too. He is a cutie; love his ears. I always thought yorkies were all tan and black also but have since found out they can come in many different color combinations and that they will change until they are between 2 and 3. Good luck with your furbabies.

| Yorkie puppies are black and tan as pups like dobermans. They change until about 3 years old, when their whole face should turn gold, as will their legs and their saddle will change to steel blue. Well that is what is desired. Mine are totally overly light, and Toto is almost completely platinum. But there are some that are adults that stay dark. Many people like that look too bc they say they always look like a puppy but I disagree bc their face is usually all gold, a telltale sign of a mature yorkie.

| He is furtastic! My Bubba changed from day to day. First dark, then his head turned white, then gold. He is 10 now and when his hair is slightly longer he looks grayish with dark roots. After a close hair cut he looks black. Sissy, on the other hand has not changed much, she has stayed dark. I have seen others at the dog park that look completely gray.

| In my honest opinion he is mixed. I not sure if its due to the mix or Yorkie males having a harder time growing long locks but the hair I doubt will grow any longer then that unless you grow it out for a very very long time. Last edited by Purty816; 08-08-2015 at 05:01 AM. |
