LOL from my age mid 20s is very young. You are starting out the right way/ I show at purina farms Sat Sept 12th to Tues the 16th. You have plenty of time to learn and to grow in the dog field. Such a wonderous journey if you decide to embark upon it. I hope to see you there |

The following is just My opinion, of course: I think it's great Kupo has so many champions in his pedigree it means past breeders who contributed to his presence, bred to what many consider within the standard. Not all Yorkshire Terriers who recieve ribbons should be bred, because of health issues that could be ravaging a winning dog's/bitche's body but no one judging notices because he/she physically fits the standard. Study lines first to decided which of them grabs your attention. Contact the breeders who are in possession of those lines and be upfront with them about your interest on breeding in the future. Then, if they will outright sell to you(some will, but place some type of showing contract) ask them what type of health screenings they've done on the sire/dam. I say this because there's no way I'd breed a dog with a history of liver shunt, even if the 5 generations behind him was full of champions. Some breeders whether they're show, hobby, byb, commercial do not health test unfortunately. |
@gemy i'll let you know if i can make it :) not sure what's going on yet, so i'm not completely sure.. maybe i'll fly.. lol.. but thank you again for trying to help me :) @colesmommy01 from what i know, kupo's parents were tested healthwise.. genetic testing and all. ooo i made an appt for kupo's bat testing as you stated :) it will be on 8th next month, and he'll get his teeth assessed to see if he needs any extraction that day... i think he'll need some done as i do see his adult canine coming right next to his baby canine.. :/ he lost most of his front ones and already has his adult ones that came in. do you think it'd be ok to get his teeth extracted now or get it done later? i only tried to do it at 6 months since my vet originally suggested me to do it when he gets neutered at 6 months, but that' not the case anymore so i'm not sure. o.o |
I would get it done later maybe around 9/10 months. All of Rasta's adult teeth were in around 9 months, I think, but my vet wanted to wait a little longer to make sure the few teeth we did have removed wouldn't fall out on their own. That's great you're getting Kupo tested in a few weeks! |
@colesmommy01 oh... well he's going to be assessed to see if he needs his teeth extracted 2 days after his bat test (he was going to get his pre-op done on the same day if anything). if she's just going to pull just a few, i guess i'll wait a bit more. his back molars seems to be coming out too though. and btw ty for recommending bat testing :) i just hope he's fine. other than the testings chic recommended, do you recommend anything else to be done? |
