| hotel and 3 pups/what do I do? We leave next Friday to head to the beach and I'm so excited. For the past few years, we have split the trip in 1/2 and stay in a hotel midway. I was looking online for a hotel room and to my surprise, they all have a 2 dog limit. Has anyone stayed with more than 2? We will be arriving late at night. Should I just put Willie in a bag and carry him in? Don't ask/don't tell? I guess we could just drive it all in one day. But we will be exhausted by the time we get there! Plus Barney is a nut case on car rides. I've also considered having my niece come over and house sit with Barney and Willie and only taking Anna. What do I do?

| Take all 3, you won't enjoy your vacation, you'll feel guilty that you left two home. Do as you say, sneak one in, in the bag, Don't ask/don't tell. you walk 2, come back, let DH walk the other one. Have a GREAT holiday with all your furbabies.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | If you have a carrier put two in one carrier and walk the other one in. While I like to respect rules that one is just silly imo. They are wee ones - what is one more. Look the worse that could happen is you get kicked out and you and your family sleep in the car....

| I would sneak one in too. Maybe they wouldn't be that strict with tiny dogs but just walk 2 at a time and don't be seen with all three together.

| Thanks for all of the advice. I think I'm going to try sneaking in Willie. We have decided to not make reservations ahead but to find a hotel on the way. It will be around 11 at night before we stop. So, maybe it won't be so hard to sneak him in. It's like Gemy said. The worst that can happen is we end up sleeping in the car.

| If they balk, see if you can get two adjoining rooms.

| For those who want to know. I went ahead and called one of the pet friendly hotels listed in Hattiesburg and explained my situation. The response was it would be fine. She said there is a charge of $25/pet, but they would probably only charge for 2. So, if anyone else finds themselves in this situation, some hotels will bend the 2 pets rule.

| Great! It really does pay to be up-front. Bend the rules to fill the rooms!

| 3 dog limit Great that you have a legal solution If you were not able to do it that way, as it is so late at night, I would just bring all three in the room. If it is a motel with an outside door next to the parking lot it is easy to do, but not so if it is a large hotel with lobby entrance. Then the hiding in a purse/ bag plan has to be operated, LOL! You could always then just take two out at one time for potty. I have never had a hotel or motel ever ask questions about my dog or wish to see him. Good luck and have a happy vacation with your furbabes. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | To be honest, we have sneaked one in when we had 3 too . Oopsie. But I've found too that some hotels will bend the rules for tiny dogs...

| I traveled cross country last fall and couldn't decide which dogs to take so I took them all. Honestly I had more trouble with relatives than hotels. I only had troule finding a hotel in one small mississippi town. |

| Glad you found a hotel that would allow it. Honestly I don't see any problem with sneaking one in if you had to. When on road trips with a quick one night stay, we usually stay at La Quinta's bc they don't charge for pets, and they have free continental breakfasts. IRCC, LQ also asks for a phone number in case there is an issue with the dogs. I always let them know we have the dogs, and no longer try to sneak into a no pets hotel. Mine bark anyway, so there's no way. But if you declare two, and there's three, and they bark, you can't really tell exactly how many dogs there are. You can only tell if there's one, more than one, or a whole bunch of them. LOL
