Here’s what one expert says, "Unfortunately with blue born puppies the situation is usually fatal. Very few live beyond the 1st few days. The ones that do survive almost always at the time they would normally break blue, lose all their blue body coat and get a very leathery skin that is like an elephant hide and causes the dog to be in extreme pain. At that time the dog has to be humanely put down. I have heard of a couple that have lived a normal life, but I think there are very few that do. Do not be tempted to raise one of these as you are opening yourself to heartbreak, let alone what the dog will go through later in life." Goldenray Genetics Chocolate Yorkies Red Golden or Yorkie Blue Borns CDA So this isn’t just a little skin problem this is a severe condition, and for you not to do everything in your power to ensure that none of your offspring are spreading this horrible ailment is wrong. Please don’t get defensive, learn more about the disease and tell your friend to neuter his dog as well. You can make a difference.

So just get over yourselves and don't worry about what i do like i said i know what needs to be done and thats it. |

So you say don't be tempted to raise this puppy so what do i do with it just take it to the vet and have it put to sleep? I'm gonna raise this puppy as long as the puppy is healthy if it takes me thousands of dollars to keep this puppy healthy and alive i will do it but once i see it is living a uncomfortable life i will be forced to put it to sleep. |

| I came across this post and don't see a problem with these blues. I've sold over 50 of these blues without a problem we call them out here baby elephants. |

| No one is making you out to be dumb. You could do hours of research and still learn new things about the subject from YT. We are all just here to help. You can't control what additional info people post. Saying 'I only want this answer' is impossible to achieve on such an important topic. A blue born is very serious, we are just trying to help. Try to listen to what we are saying. If you already know what to do, great, but there is always room for learning.

| People who do a search for blue borns on this forum will probably come across this thread and learn a lot from what is posted. I hope you are ok with that.

For the life of me, I simply cannot imagine myself coming on here and asking a question and then making demands on what others can say or not say in their responses. Did you really think that you could control other posters responses? Did you really think you could ask opinions on whether the pup was a blue born and other posters wouldn't discuss the situation of blue born pups? It's a discussion board! Feel free to respond any way you want, I have no desire to tell you and control what you say. I can handle it.

| If you have truly sold that many there is an issue in your breeding and I highly doubt all those pups are fine now if they were true blues.

| I may be mistaken, but I don't think Chris b was being serious. According to the source above, blue borns lose their hair and the skin becomes thickened ... ya, the skin would resemble an elephant. I think they were just trying to bring a little levity to the discussion.
