| Acquired a Yorkie 2 months ago after the death of a coworker I acquired a 9 year old female yorkie after the death of a co-worker 2 months ago, so her sister would not take the dog to a shelter. Her name is Allie. My co-worker, we found out before death was a hoarder in a 3rd floor apartment, and Allie had been trained to poo and pee in the apartment. At first glance of the dog, her back was hairless and her skin was flakey, she was very fat and stressed out. When I got her home, and put into the backyard on grass, she just froze, she did not know what grass was, I just could not believe it. We took her to a vet and got meds for an eye infection, yeast infection in her ears, and a good diet for her. Next stop, a good groomer and spa treatment. She just woddled when she walked. She was over 11 lbs. My goal was to get her healthy, get her potty trained and to find her a good home. We have gotten her to a healthier weight, her hair has grown out on her back, no more flakey skin, she is healthy and can actually run now. We also engaged a trainer, as we also have a 9 year old poodle, who is not happy about Allie in our household. We are looking for a home for Allie. I thought in going to this site someone could direct me to a good site for advertising and what's the best avenue on screening potentials homes for her. Any information will be helpful. |

| There is some information here, various threads, that you might find helpful: Yorkie Rescues & New Homes Needed - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community It's good to hear you've worked to help the girl. Are you Kentucky or Louisiana? That might help others find someone to help near you. A few photos might perk someone's interest here also. The threads in the rescue section should have info to help you safe guard the pup in her placement. |

| I used this link to find one of my pups... you could use it to find a local rescue and then research them thoroughly before using them. Research them. https://www.petfinder.com/animal-shelters-and-rescues/ |

| She is really a cutie! You shouldn't have much trouble finding a new home for her. Thank you for all you have done to make her healthier. I know she must feel much better. Good luck in finding her a happy, loving furever home.

| She's a cutie. It will be rough when the times comes to finding her a forever home. Maybe you'll decide to keep her |

| She does not travel well. We are avid RV'ers and traveling with her is difficult. We have tried sedating her, have talked with the vet, worked with a trainer to calm her. After our last trip out my hubby said, please find her a home. She is a sweetheart as long as we don't take her anywhere. |

| I would really like to keep her, but hubby does not have the same endearment with Allie as I do. Hubby is gone for the next 6 weeks, he would like her gone by the tie he gets back. I am trying to accomplish magic in that period of time to hopefully show him it can work out, but at the same time looking for a new home. I am going through several scenarios in trying to alleviate her stress when driving with her. I was told by her sister that her owner drove with her occasionally with Allie on her lap. That was not a good at all in my mind. So first I put her in a kennel in the back seat, then I purchased a raised doggie seat which I tried in every area of the vehicle. She does not bark, she actually sounds like a very loud baby crying. I have never heard anything like it. Even the boarding kennel manager said he has never heard a dog cry like that. In my eyes she is perfect except for the crying. I have worked so hard with Ms. Allie. Maybe with this site and the support here, as I can see, I can work through this with hubby and Allie and Girli Girl. To me, that would be the perfect solution for everyone. |

| Hope Allie and Girli Girli become best of friends. Tell hubby to stay out on the road for another 6 months... I meant weeks!! LOL Good luck. I really hope that you will be another "failed foster home" for such a beautiful little Yorkie girl!

| Aww, she's so cute, maybe Girli Girl will be better with her in 6 weeks, can't say why she would cry the way you describe, maybe she is just scared since you said your co-worker had her in her lap while driving. You have put so much time and effort in her I do hope DH lightens up and lets you keep this sweet little girl.
