| scary incident Yesterday my little girl was sleeping in her crate. As she got up I saw that her paw seemed to stuck on something near her face. I assumed that her nail was caught in a knot in her little beard. I quickly picked her up and saw that while she was sleeping her front paw slipped under her collar and she was pulling to get it out. Her pulling was causing the collar to tighten. I grabbed a scissor and cut the collar off. My first thought was that this could have happened when I was out. She is not my first Yorkie. We have had dogs for 45 years but I have never seen anything like this happen. The collar was not too big, the usual two fingers slipped under it. I immediately went on-line and after some research bought two Keepsafe break away collars for both dogs. This is a lesson to check those collars and make sure they are not going to strangle your dogs if they get caught on a bush or while romping with another dog. |

| Glad you were there. I keep Callie's pretty lose so she can slip out of it if it gets stuck on anything.

So glad you were home and able to catch it happening, phew ! Breakaway collars are great. I get mine at Chloes Collars and I have her make them extra thin for yorkies.
