Thanks for this information I'm glad you cleared up a few questions I haven't asked yet about what the ajc allows...She does also breed.shih Tzu and Maltese which is why I was adamant about paperwork. You can't say you breed many different dogs let them all roam freely together (which is exactly what she said) and her offended when someone asks questions. I used to be a debt collector years ago so maybe that's why I question EVERYTHING and if you have nothing to hide there should be no problem.

| Probably you have all the answers you need, now, which seem to be of a similar cred i.e. do not buy this puppy. But, in my opinion, papers do not guarantee the breed nor does lack of papers BUT a lot of other things are sending off red flags i.e. the price and her ATTITUDE re: your questions. Any ethical breeder should WANT to answer questions by potential owners. I mean even if she said something like, "I recognize that not having papers means that people question origin BUT ..." and gave a good reason .. Then, that would be a different story. I hope your mom finds the right puppy, soon! There are lots of GOOD breeders out there. Sadly, this doesn't sound like someone I would want to support in any way. Good luck! |

| have you checked the Yorkie Club of America to find breeders in your area, most of the breeders in that group are higher end breeders that have both show and pet quality litters. The AKC registration does not insure a quality breeder or dog, in fact I think there are puppy mills that can give you an AKC papers

| you are also close to Canada, perhaps Gemy/Gail could help you find a good breeder in that area.

| I'm curious, where in Buffalo or mainly which breeders are you referring to as money grubbers? I'm aware of very few breeders in Buffalo and am very curious as to which ones you are referring to. If you want to pm me the info, but please do. Thanks. Also, let me take a moment to absolutely without question, implore you not to use Steve's or Dan's....are those the breeders you are referring to?

| Lots of good information here and some red flags. Does this breeder say anything about a health guarantee -- and I would read very carefully between the lines if they do To me that is more important the the price! And - it can be costly sometimes to go after the guarantee issues should they arise!

If she was being rude I would not buy a dog from her BUT $800 is very low for a pet quality. I know it may sound crazy to you but it sounds like a very good breeder, she wants to make sure her dog is not bred because she wants to keep her lines and maybe the dog is not breeding quality just pet quality (likely having small faults) so she wants to make sure that she is working towards bettering the breed. My first male was $1800 and he did not come with AKC paperwork, I did see the parents paperwork but not his and I am extremely happy with him! He was worth every penny. My second male was $3500 before the nanny delivered him and he had limited AKC papers meaning he is registered but cant produce litters. Papers don't really "mean" anything unless you are planning to breed. If she can show you the parents AKC that's more than enough and $800 is a very reasonable price. These dogs are expensive and worth every penny, I would of denied her for being RUDE but not for the paperwork. Hope I made sense. Hugs
