YT 500 Club Member | OMG can't believe it Well, today is the 1st time I left my little 13 week guy alone for 2 1/2 hours. Put him in his x pen with his crate, with door opened. Left him food, water, treats, turned on TV. OMG, when I got home and opened the door, guess who was at the door to greet me?? Now that scared the living daylights out of me. The only possible way he got out was to climb over. That's 3 feet landing on a concerat tile floor!! I had a video recorder going when I left, but it only recorded 35 min, not a very good one. So I didn't see how he did it. He seems to be ok. I'm watching him like a hawk, bad choice of words, but I'm scared to death that he landed on his head. I do believe nothing is broken. He's walking fine and eating. So now he will be locked in his crate inside the pen. |

| I don't know what kind of xpen you have but I think you can purchase tops for them. Or, if you happened to be looking for a portable xpen, this looks like a good option too. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ME8EMP0?psc=1 I remember reading other posts with similar issues where their pups were able to climb out of their xpens. I think they ended up draping a sheet over the pen or buying a top. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wow, what a little monkey!! I'd be nervous too. I used the Iris pen when mine were pups and they weren't able to climb it.

| Lexi can easily climb out of her xpen. Once she figured it out the first time there was no stopping her. I actually had to hot glue some plaster board on the top of each panel. This was the only thing that worked to keep her from getting out since the board had no holes to grab onto. ps. We have to iris pen (3 feet tall one) and she figured it out at about 4 months old. | I have to smile about your little one greeting you at the door. Aren't they such little buggers? Yes, it is scary about how she got out of the pen. I remember when Zoey was a baby and I went upstairs to my computer. I left her downstairs since she was so little. After awhile something caught my eye and there stood Zoey at the doorway to my room. I was shocked. I asked her how she got there. Duh! Who would have though that a tiny baby could climb stairs? They really want to be with us all the time.

| I have found these yorkies, put an obstacle in their way, to them it is a challenge, a way to get over, under, through it, they will find a way. My last girl was that way. If she was blocked out of someplace, she found a way in lol, yes, even climbed, and she started to do this at age 5 y/o lol, not a baby.

| It sounds as if she is fine; therefore, this is thankfully, pretty funny. She probably could not wait for you to get home so she could show you that she got out. I'm glad she's doing well. |

| Abbi jumped into, and got out of, my granddaughter's Pack'n'Play playpen. I watched her climb out. She scaled the corner like a mountain goat and jumped down from the rail. They are really, really, good climbers. |

| My daughter came downstairs to let Elliot out of her crate last month when she was three months old and she was in the back of it! She had climbed up and over the divider in the crate and jumped into the back of it. There were only a couple of inches on top of the divider. I have no idea how she squeezed between the divider and the top of the crate to get on the other side.
