He looks like a yorkie just has the short cut. How big is he?? They come in all sizes not all are small. She most likely is thinking of a small one. With long hair. They are not caterized in different sizes like Toy, med or standard like some dog breeds. They just come in different sizes from breeding. But I can't tell his size? My only guess why she thinks he's not a Yorkie?? Looks like one to me.

Thank you so much. My eldest is kind of hard headed so if a few more folks that they feel way also the debate will be over. Thanks again OBTW her reasoning was that his ears don't stand up.

Yeah bossy..he's a Yorkie.. There ears don't stand up and they can get large. Its has alot to do with the breeding and if the breeder knows how to help the ear stand if they don't when they are young...even then sometimes they don't. They call those "Tea Pot" Yorkies . Tell your daughter that......search on Google if she doesn't believe you.. Not an Official name.

| Welcome to YT, looks all yorkie to me. I had 2 with floppy ears and 2 with straight ears, Floppy ears do not determine breed, size does not determine breed. My passed yorkies weights ranged from 10 lbs to 17 lbs. As another member posted. Your daughter may have seen tiny yorkies with long hair and straight ears, your lil guy looks like he is sporting a puppy clip, has floppy ears and hs weight is over standard, You have been blessed with an awesome breed, demanding, bossy, wants to rule everyone in his world lol, they are mischievous little clowns and love to hunt mice, moles, squirrels, if it moves, it's theirs. Oh, they also LOVE to shred, toilet paper, tissues, napkin and paper towels lol, it's a yorkie thing lol. He is blessed to have you as his new mom and lil buddy's to paly with , You will love him regardless of his larger size and floppy ears. WARNING:::do not look into his eyes, he will capture your heart and you will belong to him forever lol. Enjoy that lil boy.

I have a floppy eared Yorkie. Hold the ears up and maybe she will see his "Yorkiness." He looks as if he knows he is handsome-this is a Yorkie trait.
