| How lucky is your MIL!! I wish someone would have dropped a yorkie into my lap! Hey, even though I have two of them, I would still take another if someone needs to give theirs away I hope your MIL comes up with the perfect name for that sweet little girl. I have a feeling she is going to be very spoiled.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | In her picture I saw a bit of an attitude - hopefully that come out. She looks sweet, pensive, and whimsical. Anise Aster Amarylis BlueBell Begonia Buttercup Cinnamom Cyclamen Cactus (and that was the first name that popped into my head when I saw her first pic) Cali and you could spell with a Kali - the goddess of war. Strong but tender. I think this gal is strong and tender. Deci Hyssop Iris Jasmine Lilac Mari short for Marigold

| I think kali is goddess of destruction, not necessarily war. I like the idea of a goddess name. Or Shiva though that is a male god. We'd have to see her personality. It's be funny if she was all lazy docile with that name. Or it could be an ironic name LOL!

| So I got more info. MIL sent me the vet records and we had a long chat on the phone tonight. Her name is Gadget. Which I personally like, but I think MIL may have a bit of an issue pronouncing it. She's been calling her Baby and she will come. She also said she has nasty teeth and bad breath. But will let her open her mouth so I suggested to get doggy toothpast asap. Also found out the original owners were feeding her leftover people food, so no wonder she is not eating her kibble (Merrick's) and hasn't drank water in almost two days. I gave her some tips and how to get her to drink and ween her off people food. Good news in she loves being outside and knows how to walk on a leash. But thinks she may have been spanked bc she pooped in the house today and was hiding and totally scared. Also she doesn't know WTH a toy is.

| Oh, that poor sweet little thing - she sounds like she's not had the best dog's life until now not knowing how to play and scared after pooping in the house! I'm sure lots of Yorkie owners don't know about their dental problems and have to be schooled in how to take care of them, regular dental cleanings and all. Bad breath and nasty teeth call for a vet check of her gums and teeth to be sure they are all healthy or get her scheduled for a cleaning before things get drastic and she gets an abscess or loses some teeth. Hopefully she will bond with MIL quickly and settle in, begin to feel secure with someone who will now be patient and loving with her. Betcha before long, with a kind owner who can show her how to play with toys, she'll be enjoying them and understanding what they are and how much fun they are. Can MIL syringe some water into her mouth or tip a teaspoonful in a few times a day until she is settled in enough to drink from her bowl? Couldn't help but look at her pictures again - about the 4th time now - and totally love her looks. She's so precious!

| I had her check her teeth and see if she got angry with lifting up her lips. She is fine with that thanks god. I told her about doggy toothpaste, and she seems docile enough and I sent her a link of toothpaste. I'm thinking she doesn't want to eat kibble also bc her teeth hurt. But then again, if you were a dog and eating leftover Viet food, would you want to eat dry kibble? No way! I told MIL to dip her hand in water and let her lick the water off. Better than nothing. Oh yeah I got her vet records. Her name is/was Gadget. I like the name but I think it will be hard to pronounce for MIL.

| Forget if these have been mentioned: Poppy, Willow, Cherry Blossom, Tiger Lily, Calla Lily, Tansy and Pansy.

| Oh also found out this: the original owner had two dogs; Gadget and another one, who apparently is her father. She is keeping the father. She paid $2500 for him. Supposed to be Ch. sired (I asked MIL for the AKC papers to prove it). Ch. sired and Ch. background are two very different things. Orig owner's sis has a female and they bred them several times. So in fact Gadget IS from a byb. They kept the sire to "make more babies". They gave away Gadget bc she was "free". I use the quotes in irony. They sold the pups for much less than what non papered pups go for in this area. Ergh.....

Her teeth could be preventing her from eating anything but soft food and much pain can rob a dog of appetite. Has MIL scheduled her vet visit to get her teeth checked since she could be in pain?

| I like Ivy and Ginger, but MIL said she will let her grandson (bf's nephew) pick the name. He looooooves Uni so I think it will be cute if he names her. I'm interested to see what he comes up with. He's 7.
