| Toilet Paper Okay, I need to know if anyone else has this issue. Pepper loves to pull the toilet paper off of the roll, like you would see a cat do. She loves to shred it and have it all over the house. She has actually got a stash under my bed near the head board where I cannot get to it. I have told her no, and scolded her for it. I don't what to do. She always does it when I'm not looking and getting ready for work, so I cannot close the bathroom door. Any suggestions? Am I the only one dealing with this???

| Yorkie paper shredding, I believe is breed into the yorkie breed lol. I am now on my 5th yorkie and they were / are all paper shredders lol. toilet paper, tissues, napkins, paper towels, he is a yorkie lol, nothing abnormal about him and the toilet paper. Over the years of having yorkies out of habit I keep the bathroom doors closed, just have to watch out for the tissues and napkins lol. My passed pups would go into my purse and pull out and shred my tissues. At least Cody does not search my purse as my passed girls did lol. Sorry, but I always and still do think it's cure and funny.

| Pepper is a puppy right? if so it is completely natural it seems like a right of passage for them. Lola did it with Toilet Paper and with boxes of tissues if she could get her paws on them. She will get over it in the mean time take the roll off the holder and put it on top of the toilet tank, this way you can get to it when you need it but she can't. Eventually they loose interest in it. here is a picture of Lola with a tissue box she destroyed. At the time I though having pet stairs by my bed was a good idea until I realized she was routing around my nightstand while I was in the other room on the computer probably on Yorkie Talk not paying attention to her

| Yep….Sunni, loves to shred tp and paper towels or napkins. She's a little napkin thief when we are eating and literally every night gets the napkin off my sons lap and has it shredded in seconds. He has to keep it on the table now, but she's sort of finally learning leave it……sort of, lol. With the tp. I have just taken it off the roller and put it on top of the tank, where she can't reach it…but she still gets into the wastebasket..so, that goes on the toilet seat until I can shut the door to keep her out of trouble. She's been shredding her wee pads for about a week now, which stinks because she is pad trained, lol..so, I go thru them like water. Luckily its Spring(ish) so we can take more walks. Good luck!! |

| all my pups shredded paper right into adulthood, Cody is 4 y/o and still does it. My Matese stopped around 15 y/o. As adults they did stop going into the bathroom if by accident the doors were not closed. But leave a box of tissues where they can reach it, it got shredded lol

| yeah it's funny they seem to stop with the TP shredding but most other paper stuff seems fair game and especially if something is on it. Lola no longer has access to my bed unless it's time for all of us to go to sleep, so that put an end to tissue access. I had a Bichon pup that went into my purse and chewed on a small tube of fingernail glue, he did not swallow it, but got just enough that it stuck on his lips and gums. it was hard to get it off him so he went a day or two with lips that would sort of stick together off and on. Lola chewed on the cord to a lamp when she was a pup, lucklily it was off but there was enough of an electric current that she got a small electric shock and smelled a little burnt, we went running off to the ER doc with her but she was fine, but LOL she got the nick name Sparky. I think puppy proofing a house is more work than child proofing a house. Sometimes I wonder how we manage to raise them safely into adulthood

| Yes, Pepper is a puppy. She's 5 months old now. She's cute as a button and I love her to death. Does anyone know if they make any type of shedder toys??

| You can put the toilet paper on the roller under rather than over. That way, if he paws at it, the paper won't unroll. (Does this make sense???) |

| Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I will definitely do that when I get home tonight. I wish they made safe things that they could shred and have fun with.

| Max has been shredding from day 1. TP, Kleenex, paper - he loves it all. If we leave a piece of paper where he can get it we will come home to 100 small pieces of paper. This was one of his 1st conquests.
