| ways to decrease separation anxiety Hello all I just got my puppy yesterday. Im trying to figure out ways to get around separation anxiety. I haven't left her and don't plan on leaving her in the house for atleast until she gains some kind of trust. Im home must of the day except for weekly errands. But when I leave to go places she can't, I have a pet taxi (don't plan to use it ever is to small, was only to bring her home) a puppy play pen and a hallway which can be blocked off by closing the doors. It's enough room for her bed and food on one end and pee pads on the other (roughly 8 ft of space. Last night she slept in her bed in the hallway right next to my room door she didn't wander around or whine. For training early and reference how can I decrease anxiety when I leave her home. I don't want neighbors complaining |

| Try leaving the house for a few minutes each day. Increase the amount of time your are out of the house until she seems completely okay with you leaving. Get a webcam that you can access from your smartphone to see her behavior. Also find toys that will keep her busy. She needs to know you are coming back. Hope this helps Thankfully my yorkie just goes to sleep when I'm not not home. |

| I would have her sleeping in a crate or play pen in my room. Poor pup just got taken from her mom and littler mates and is left alone in a hallway. In my opinion there is not much you can do they will either have it or not have it. But put that poor pup in your room at night.

| Well first the serious answer- you can leave and come back soon showing him that you return. Now the unserious-do what my DH does- never leave him alone. My husband is the one with separation anxiety! |
