| Screen doors? They say Spring started yesterday, though in NJ you wouldn't know it with our 5" snowfall!! But, I have faith that yes, it will warm up this year. Knowing that, I've had tousle with my other dogs scratching on the screen to get out if I leave the doors open with screens. Needless to say, the other dogs have always ripped holes in them, so I wind up using my ac on days that I could easily don't need it. When my husband was alive he created this guard, with plexiglass that he screwed into the bottom of the screen, on both sides so they couldn't ruin it. I do not have a single clue how to make one of them, and I need 2. Do any DYI people out there have any good ideas? I'd love to hear them. |

YT 1000 Club Member | If you go to Lowe's or Home Depot, they sell screen guards that just screw onto the door to protect the screen from dogs/kids. We used to have one on our screen door when my kids were little. We got a new front door and our really pretty fancy screen door no longer matched it so we got a glass front storm door instead so you can see the beautiful front door we have now. Unfortunately I don't put the screen of the storm door in because my big dog will tear a hole in screens so fast. I have to open my windows from the top because he rips the screens to shreds if he can get to them. I don't know how Teek will be with screens but I hope good because I am planning to make a screen door for the back of my truck (with topper) so that when I go mow at places I can put Teek in the back of the pickup and have a screen on it so he will have fresh air from the windows in it and the entire back end being open (the window part was broken off before I got the truck) and have it screened in. When we go camping that will be great too because I can store gear in the pickup and close the screen to keep bugs out.
