| The best hair tie bands or clips Hello I have my first yorkie a girl! Iam wondering if I could get some advice she was in a puppy cut when I got her a few months a go I am trying to get her in a full show coat. Her hair is growing really nicely I can't wait till it gets long enought to make a top knot the front of her bar in her head is kinda in a visor look know so I am tryingr to find a way to get it out of her face. I bought the elastic clear band and target for human hair but they are quite difficult to get in and I feel Ike I am pulling her hair I just want her hair not to bother her face and get in her eyes, while it is growing but I don't want to pain her any suggestions? Also I heard it I'd good to add some old to their meals any idea of what is the best kind for hair growth and what amount she is 5 lbs and 4 1/2 yrs old. One more questions sorry to bother I'm just very excited about finally being able to have a yorkie and I am unsure of how to do the hair thing while the coat is still growing. Also just. Side note if Ny one needs a great shampoo I tried the Paulo Michael oatmeal it was good I thought but the. I tried viva spa bright white shampoo from petco. Wow baby this works great I thought it was just for white dogs but boy was I wrong it gives a great lusturious shine without kea in the hair flat and mousy also it leaves the hair extremly soft I would hightly recommend it. The only down side it smell is a little weak but since you have to use detangler when you brush them out that keeps their smell great thanks so much hope to get a response soon. Btw this is a great site! What's a brilliant idea for yorkie owners

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT ! For top knots I either use the tiny plastic hair-claw clips or I use very small black elastics...both of those work well for me. I like the claws best bc they don't pull.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Welcome to YT. Glad you are here. Here is a few things I do and use. I hope they can help I get small bands from Lainee. They are wonderful. This is where a number of the show breeders get them from http://www.laineeltd.com/cgi-bin/lai...ml?id=UXva44sf Here is where I got my rat tail comb. It has a metal tail. Perfect for top knots. Also don't forget to get the little hook scissors. . . They are great for taking out topknots. You never pull them out always cut them. Also make sure your brushes do not have balls on the ends. It damages the coat. Jenny is a dream to work with . She is a YT member Mimimomo toplinepet.com I get my Shampoo and conditioner and grooming spray from here. I have tried many different products. This is the only items I use on Galen. You can talk to Julia. Tell her your concerns and she will direct you with the best products for your pup. Also, never dry brush their hair. It can cause damage and break. Always use a grooming spray. TrendyWendyPets, LLC - Home I add fish oil in Galen's food every night. I also give him coconut oil every day as a treat or mix it in breakfast. It helps their coats. And their insides too I have been growing Galen's coat after it has been shaved. So I know. It takes a lot of patience lol . .good luck. And if you have any more question please feel free to ask

| I use baby scrunchies for my girls as well as the bands. But I like the scrunchies better. I get them at Walmart in the baby department.

| I mostly use rainbow loom bands, I used to use the little bands from dollar tree they're better for small amounts of hair. I also use tiny scrunchis from family dollar. |

| I use the scrunched for daily topknot wear. I feel is gentler to the hair than the bands. Also, at night for bedtime I loosen then scrunched. Cali's top knot is long and she has alto of full coat. Good luck!

| I use the tiny, soft bands that are like the one the orthodontist uses. For barrettes, I use monster bows from esty-they are slip proof snap clips and she doesn't mind them at all-they are tiny and 1.00 each in beautiful fabrics/ribbons. |

| I like the tiny mini scunchies from family dollar, too, for all the time wear. I like to mix two different colors to match outfits, and they have pastels, bright colors, and deep shades...lots of choices and very reasonably priced. Bands and bows are a must for 'special' or when their hair must stay up. I avoid metal, larger scunchies, etc. most of the time...but I always watch with all hair adornments to make sure I get them picked up first...choking, punctured intestines, etc., is not an experience I want to have. Fortunately, their hair stays in pretty good now that it's longer, but when it was shorter, it would come down more easily with the soft scrunchies, but I could easily put those back in, and no hair loss. It was a tough choice because with bands when it was shorter, I worried more about breakage. There is a product which is a soft, narrow tape similar to the sick-only-to-itself medical tape for use in doggie hair. If you do an internet search, you should find it. It comes in many colors. I experimented until I figured out what worked and what I liked best. These are my babies, so I try to be careful with everything! LOL

| Jenny is wonderful. Next time you order from her, get the Madan mustache comb. I have the rat tail comb also, but I use the mustache comb most of all. I have a couple of larger Madan combs from Jenny, but I have multiples of the mustache comb.

| The mustache comb is metal, and it's really great to use around the face and legs. I found this image of the comb, and there are many threads about it on Yorkietalk. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yt-...-mimimomo.html
