YT 500 Club Member | New Hello, new to yorkietalk.Have few replies that are very helpful. Would someone tell me if buying a yorkie before hie eyes are opened a good idea? Will see a breeder soon to see the newborns. I had a sweetie lost him 1yr. Ago. Thank you |

| Hi, welcome to Yorkie Talk! I am sorry about your loss, may your baby rest in peace. In regards to the new baby yorkie, I think you should wait until his eyes open so that you can see if there is a bond.

| Buy a puppy before their eyes are open . Absolutely NOOOO. Puppies eyes open between 2 to 4 weeks old, they are still nursing from the momma, they are not walking if eyes are still closed. To answer your question. NEVER get a puppy that eyes have not opened. I am sure others will come along to give medical reasons why NEVER get a puppy that their eyes are not open. YT Addict | I think i would want to see how active they are and changes in their faces will make a difference. If you are confident in your breeder see if you can wait. I know they want to sell all their babies. Or reserve them. If so then it will be hard. |
