yes, such a shame we can't trust ppl when it comes to finding the true owner of a found pup.

Another suggestion:::if your neighbor gets any calls, ask the caller what the dog's name is, then just say the dogs name in a natural voice, meaning do not call the dog. Cody's orignal name was Theodore, if in a conversation I say that name Cody will whip up his head real fast, I have him one year and he still remembers his name.

I talked to her and she's definitely going to go with the vague flyers to try to ascertain whether a caller is the real owner. Thank you for the suggestion Mark.

Have you tried local vet's offices to see if they have heard anything?

My neighbor did, and no reports of missing yorkies in the area.

With no flyers out no reports of yorkies missing at the vet and have you checked the humaine society. I would be cautious of anyone who called someones not trying very hard to find him

I called the local humane society about an hour after finding the little guy yesterday, but they told me they had no reports of any missing yorkies.

I know the little guy got out at least 2 nights ago, because he was barking outside in my yard and driving Cookie nuts.

Ya know could be someone seen your yorky and actually dropped him at your house he just wandered over to the neighbors. That would be a sorry thing to do. But in this world who knows. Just dont get anyone ever not wanting a yorky. Or any fur baby really.

Any time! Personally, I'm rooting for your neighbor's daughter to be the new owner. The way you described the situation, it's sorta like manna from heaven or some such.

I admire the due diligence in attempting to find the last owner as well, someone out there may be heart broken and the rightful owner. We wouldn't want complications to arise months down the road that would cause distress for your neighbor's daughter.

It is very hard these days to know if a pup was lost from the area where he was found. So many are being taken, transported elsewhere, then are getting out on the streets where they are being found. Much of this seems to be being done for 'sales profit' sadly. If the dog was stolen and escaped a vehicle while being transported, there may be no one in your area looking for him because they would be looking in their area. I wish for you success in your endeavor. Thank you for helping this baby.

I think you're doing everything right in trying to find the owners for this little one. You could also search Facebook as sometimes people will put up a page for their missing pets there.

Facebook is how my Sugar Baby was found and returned to me. Longest 6 hours of my LIFE!! I will always be grateful to those people for caring enough not only to take her off from that busy road, but also to take the time to search and find me!!

Thanks. I have gone through at least a couple hundred ads on the Lost Dogs of Texas Facebook page and no matches, nothing even close.
