| Name change at 12 weeks? I really liked MeSo's name until my DH started calling her mesothelioma. I've asked him several times to stop calling her that, but he is very stubborn. He never calls her by name, just makes up stupid names and calls her whatever. I'm not sure if its because he can't remember her name or just doesn't like it. Any suggestions? I'm so frustrated and angry at him for not using her name I'd like to strangle him (don't worry, I won't). But I do think I need to find another name that he can't mangle. Help.

| Maybe you could just add a middle name, like MeSo Leah, or Me So Jade, or something and use that name when hubby is around. Don't feel bad about the hubby, mine would do the exact same thing and think he was sooo clever. LOL

| I think you could change the name with no problem but the hubby will just start to use another nickname if he thinks it bothers you, won't he? My husband annoys me cuz he makes Teddy chase and bite his own tail. I can't remove Teddy's tail so I cut off my hubby's hand.. LOL - not really! but I have threatened capital punishment to no avail! |

| I totally agree....I too think your husband will just make a play on whatever new name you choose.... When my son visits, he always insists on calling Harry 'Mr. Shipman', who is one of our country's most notorious murderers who happened to be a GP.... He won't stop doing it, either

| I agree with the others, you like MeSo, why change it, DH may find a more irritating name.

| What is it about men? LOL We just brought in a 2 year old rescue, named Prince. My husband immediately started calling him The Dense Prince. I didn't much care for the name Prince, and he didn't seem connected to it anyway. So I figured - new home, new family, new life, new name. I changed it to Ranger. My husband immediately started calling him Ranger Danger. (Which is an improvement over The Dense Prince, I guess.) It's only been a week and he is already responding to his new name. Diana |

| I'd start teasing back with my husband every time he did it if it bothered me. It's a convenient name to switch up to make fun of HIM. Every time he does it, you should say "U So stupid" or "u so childish" or "u so about to get punched"...lol. That said, I'm the goober that started calling Sheldon "Poopers" and "Shelly Pooper". |

| please don't strangle your husband. MeSo will miss you while you are serving jail time. If you change her name he will just make up other silly names. You need to take your husband to obedience school.

| LOL, I think this is funny because I think of a song by 2 Live Crew from your puppy's name. And you're husband came up with a terrible nickname too. I think that if you changed the puppy's name you shouldn't have an issue. I know people who change rescue dogs name when they are much older. Good Luck with your decision.

| Thanks all. It's nice to know I'm not the only one with an immature, idiotic husband. I will keep her name. I think when the lawyers stop running that stupid commercial looking for people with mesothelioma is when he will stop completely. He isn't smart enough to remember it for long.

OP I find that a sharp "NO!" and a thump to the back of the head is helpful in correcting my boyfriends behavior.

| We call ours nicknames all the time. I don't think it would be a problem to change her name, but he would just think of a new nickname. Perhaps if you use nicknames that YOU like, he might follow and use those instead. If my dog's name was MeSo, I wouldn't be able to resist calling her the following, depending on what she was doing at the moment: MeSo pretty, MeSo precious, MeSo ferocious, MeSo silly, MeSo happy, etc.
