| Pet Insurance? I jokingly call Mia the "million dollar dog" but that is only a slight exaggeration, lol. The amount of money I have invested in this dog is unreal and the lengths I am willing to go to make sure she is healthy and well-cared for are extreme. Having said that, I have heard there is such a thing as pet health insurance. Do any of you have any recommendations of a good company to go through and what sorts of things I should make sure are included. Now for the hard part as it makes me uncomfortable to even think about but is there such a thing as insurance against the possible loss of your pet? I feel terrible even contemplating such a thing but need to be realistic. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Very many threads on here. Also the library has stickeys information articles on pet insurance. Can you insurance your dog against loss of life, through accident or illness, I have never met a policy that does this. You can insure against cancer, genetic defects, etc.

| I had PetPlan for a while for Wall-e, and their most expensive plan did reimburse you for the cost of the pet if it died. I'm sure there are many rules on that one though. Petplan was good but every year it got way more expensive so I switched to Healthy Paws.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I used to have PetPlan and now have Healthy Paws for all 3 of my kiddos. Keep in mind they won't cover any pre-existing conditions. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...ries-care.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...e-reviews.html

| I've been hearing that the top 2 are Healthy Paws and Trupanion? I'm also trying to figure out which insurance is best. Any thoughts on these two?

| Glad to hear you are happy with this company as this is the one I am leaning toward. Plan to call them tomorrow. Think I will go with a higher deductible and not really needing the wellness plan as that is all stuff I would pay for anyway. I mainly just want the peace of mind of knowing that I am covered in the case of something catastrophic. |
