| having problems with buckles Nelly hates getting buckles put in her hair. Is it because she is to young? How old do they have to be before they will leave them in. I am going to try and attach a few photos of Nelly before and after pictures with her buckles. She looks like a punkrocker. |

YT 5000 Club Member | I don't really have any advice but I just had to keep putting Gidget's hair up and eventually she left it alone! Now she wears them all the time! Good luck and your baby is beautiful!

| Thanks, I was also wondering, Nelly has 1/4 poodle in her so she is considered a yorkipoo, do you see any poodle traits in her? It is no big deal because we love her all the same but people tell me when I am out around that she does look like the full yorkie. The reason I am asking this question is because she plays with my other dogs alot and she starts smelling so if you have any info or if anyone has any info on yorkipoo's I would love to know because I wash her once a week or so and I would not want to ruin her coat if this is not a good idea. Is their fur suppose to look oily as well? |

YT 5000 Club Member | She looks like Yorkie to me! She is a cutie! I am not sure about the oily coat but alot of people on here use the CC products! You can buy them at www.imapreciouspup.com! We are fixing to buy some to try too! I am sure there will be someone to give you some good advice!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Nelly is so cute!! I love her hair after you take it down...she defintely looks like a punkrocker!! When we take the girls hair down we always give them a treat and them cut them out with small scissors, that way it doesn't break the hair and doesn't hurt them at all!!

| A couple of things... I also had a hard time keeping clips in Maddie's hair. She would ruin it in 2 minutes! I suggest going to your local Target/Wal-Mart...whatever you have near you, and get those tiny clear rubberbands and put her hair in those. These rubberbands won't break her hair and when you're ready to take them out, they will just slide off (just don't leave them in too long). Keep putting her hair up on a regular basis for a while. Eventually she will get used to the feeling of having it up. After she's used to it, using a clip when you want to will be much easier. As far as her coat...maybe you can ask your groomer about this, but my groomer would do hot oil treatments on my babies. It would have their hair super shiny and beautiful (not oily) and it's great for dry skin. I'm not sure what product she uses...I'll have to ask, but I'm sure it's something you would be able to get and have on hand when you think it's getting a little dull. What shampoo are you using? If you think you need to wash her more than usual, dilute your shampoo. It's the shampoo that drys their skin and coat. Use conditioner. It really makes a big difference. If you're just worried about the smell (and I know what you mean...kinda like dogsweat, except they don't sweat) it will go away after she starts to chill out. If it gets really bad, there are some great smelling doggy perfumes out there. Wow...that turned out to be long! Hope I helped a little!

| Your puppy does look "all Yorkie." But mixes can come out a million different ways - so this doesn't surprise me. My puppy had the oilest hair in the world until I cut his "baby hair" off. His new hair is 100% different. It is straighter - not oily - and easy to comb....and it is silver and tan, not predominately black. He's looking good! Carol Jean |
