| Yorkie Toys??? Hello All, I know this a dumb question, but I wanted to know what kind/type of toys people are letting their little fur babies play with. The reason I ask is that my 8 mo old seems to be a terrer and has torn/broken/ripped 10 toys already. I got them for him with his teething, but I don't think he is teething any longer as he is 8 months and he was neutered at the end of last month and they removed 2-3 remaining baby teeth. I buy him the rope kinds (not hard), material kind, and I even tried 1 soft rubber one to no avail. I'm concerned that he is still knawing at them when I thought he would be more playful. I did not have this problem with my previous yorkie. Also, I kind of here him biting them sometimes and making a clicking noise with his teeth so I don't want him to accidentally chip an adult tooth, etc. Any thoughts, should I just leave 1-2 toys down (I also left an old sock, that he rips). I was also thinking of perhaps removing the toys for a bit to see if that makes him less bitting when I re-introduce them later??? |

| I think it depends on what your yorkie likes. Mine hates balls, I bought her a whole set and she never played with them. I buy her little plush toys and those ropes that you were talking about. Kong has these cute new teddy bear toys that have a rope inside and they're pretty small. Your yorkie might like that one

| Hello! I buy my Teddy small toys made for miniature breeds and these include plastic chewy things which are hard but have some give in them. He is over a year old now and he loves chewing on nylabones + these small toys which almost resemble the teething rings material for babies. He also plays with miniature rope tugs, which are bound with a smallish plastic ring and miniature plush toys. I just ensure there are no plastic parts, like eyes and noses, which he could chew off and any signs of wear which he may choke on are removed or the toy discarded. I have found that he will chew the carpet if he doesn't have something like the above to chew on so he always has two or three toys in the living room, hallway and kitchen. I hope this helps? If you need brands or anything, let me know, and I will try to assist |

| Emma likes anything that squeaks. She does like balls, she'll chase it, play with it by herself but not a fetch and bring back kind of dog. We have a kong wubba and some rope toys. Her favorites though are the stuffies with squeakers. She hasn't torn anything up yet, which is a blessing. So we haven't had to buy toys frequently. I buy them when I think I found something cute. She hasn't even gotten the toys that she has very dirty either.

| Thanks. My issue is that he plays with them but then constantly bites them. Even the rubber one I Jay got him yesterday. It's kinda hard and I found bites in them. I notice that he also loves to bites my fingers and toes (but not hard). Perhaps I need to do a better job at making him stop, which will hopefully lead him to be more playful with his toys then to bite and break them. |

| I have taken the stuffing out of toys before I give them to Dink. (Careful to remove squeaker of one is in there too.) His favorite is a soft rubber ball with a tail. He grabs the tail and shakes it to "death." Son's dog (not a Yorkie) destroys all toys given to him, even special sturdy ones son finds on line. THey last longer, but always end up dead. Some dogs love to rip things to shreds. Maybe your little one will outgrow it? |
