I think it depends on what your yorkie likes. Mine hates balls, I bought her a whole set and she never played with them. I buy her little plush toys and those ropes that you were talking about. Kong has these cute new teddy bear toys that have a rope inside and they're pretty small. Your yorkie might like that one
