| ![]() As I said, I'm not trying to convert you, I am posting for new people so they have their Vet show them the proper way. And no you do not hold their head straight up, just slightly and just pet the throat, but again, Please have your Vet show/demonstrate so you get it right and don't stress your pup. Once you understand how to do it, you'll know how to get the pill far enough back that the pup will swallow it with out the head slightly up/stroking. |

| ![]() I am no help for liquid meds except the syringe technique in the side of the mouth followed quickly by a treat to make him swallow. With solid pills I give a treat first then the treat wrapped around the pill, again followed quickly by another treat. Usually it is all done before he gets what I'm up to. :-) No time to lick the good stuff off and spit out the pill. Luckily he swallows everything whole and this works, but I guess if they chew, all is lost! |
