| I dug through a link on another thread, they don't sell that here, so I was unfamiliar with their name. We were one of the few lucky states. Thanks for the help though, scary!

| IM stopping all food that I've been given to my babies IMMEDIATELY, even tho they are doing fine with it....... I thought it was a good product but after reading this recall, I'm SICK !! I have read about the recall before, but I never thought they made CHICKEN SOUP FOR PET LOVERS....land if any of you give your babies CHICKEN SOUP FOR PET LOVERS, please check the product code and see if there is a "G in the 9th position" on the small bags. I just bought a bag and it don't have a G but IM RETURNING IT AND going to look for something else, maybe INNOVA EVO....... if thats not made by DIAMOND PET FOODS..... The recall came before Christmas but I guess I didn't pay much attention to it because it didn't list specifically CHICKEN SOUP FOR PET LOVERS in the list, or I missed it.... I"M in A PANIC !! but my babies have been ok, so all the food goes out in the trash immediately......... Last edited by Yorkie24U; 01-09-2006 at 06:37 PM. |

| There's been other threads that provided information regarding this recall but it's good to post again just to make sure everyone knows and that our little ones are SAFE!!! here's Diamond Pet Food's Recall Press Release as well as FAQ's regarding what's included in the recall and which states. http://www.diamondpetrecall.net/updates.html It is important to note though that Diamond Pet Food Company manufactures a number of brands including Diamond Pet Food, Country Value, Professional, Premium Edge, Chicken Soup, Canine Club, and Kirkland Signature (Costco's brand). Although they claim that not all foods were contaminated. The toxic pet food were manufactured in Diamond's Gaston S.C. facility. To check if the food in your possession is from the Gaston plant, a capital "G" (in reference to Gaston) in the 11th or 12th position of the date code (18 lb. to 55 lb. bags), and the capital "G" will be in the 9th position on smaller 4 lb. to 8 lb. bags. I was going to switch my puppy to Chicken Soup, and although Chicken Soup is not a part of the recall and I'm not a part of the affected states... it's probably better safe than sorry. |

| I just checked the sample 1.5 oz bag I have and it has the GA at the end of the production code. Its not at the 9th position but Im not feeding my babies any of that tomorrow even tho they had no problems up until now. I just started them on it and they liked it. but no more... I'm going to have to change their food abruptly now. I know a lot of members have been using the CHICKEN SOUP FOR PET LOVERS on here and I hope they read the thread as it could mean life or death to their babies. |

| I think it's also important to note that the Gaston Facility manufactures more food than what's being recalled. They also manufacture the following list of products although they are currently deemed safe and NOT a part of the recall: All Premium Edge products The complete Chicken Soup product lines Canine Club Kirkland Signature Puppy Kirkland Signature Chicken & Rice Adult Dog Kirkland Signature Lamb & Rice Adult Dog Kirkland Signature Mature Dog Kirkland Signature Maintenance Cat Diamond Lamb and Rice Adult Diamond Large Breed Adult 60+ Diamond Large Breed Puppy (Lamb & Rice Puppy) Diamond Senior 8+ Diamond Kitten Professional Lamb and Rice Professional Reduced Fat Chicken & Rice Dog Food Food made by this facility is sent to 23 states: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky (eastern), Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Vermont, and Virginia. |

| Thanks for the information but I'm not going to trust giving my babies any products that come from the Diamond Manufacturing Plant. Just can't trust something else happening. I know any food plant could have that happen at anytime, but I guess now Im getting perinoid about the food my babies eat, so I think I'll just stick to my own kitchen healthy foods. They enjoy white meat boiled chicken breasts, peas, carrots, string beans, and I can add some other healthy ingredients in there also that I trust will be healthy for them. I have a healthy recipe for " SPOTS STEW ", from http://www.halopets.com which is approved for people to eat, so I'll be giving that to them from now on. ITs all very healthy food.
