| Sensitive puppy does anyone have a yorkie that is totally against being groomed, brushed, bathed and having harness put on. I think she may be overly sensitive. |

| when Cedric was lil he hated being brused and still does!! haha he tolerates my grooming him but it is not his favorite thing to do. maybe do it in small increments with a favorite treat only used during the grooming/brushing/bathing/harness applying times.

| How old is she? Most puppies have to get used to it because it is new to them.

| Teddy hated being brushed and used to bite the comb. I reserved some treats which were only brought out for him when I brushed him and he did really well after awhile and is now a complete joy to brush. He hates his harness and leash and I think he may have fear of them but I think he has an anxiety disorder anyway so I can't help there, I'm afraid. I have tried to condition him so that he associates the harness with treats but I think he's afraid of going outside, too. He is a work in progress! I have tried putting the harness on him to wear around the house so he doesn't associate wearing the harness with anything unpleasant but that doesn't stop him from hating the leash despite trying the same tactic with it! All I can offer by way of advice is to try to condition your dog to associate things it hates with treats be it food or toy rewards and consistent praise. |

| I think it's pretty common for dogs not to enjoy being groomed. The word bath has always sent most of mine into hiding. All 5 of the pups that I have owned have hated being brushed or bathed and all have loathed getting their teeth brushed. Some have made it easier to do but all hated it. Yorkies often have knots or get matted and even when trying not to hurt them when brushing it happens which unfortunately makes them even more reluctant to lay back and relax. All of them however are happy to get their harness put on, usually means something fun is going to happen.
