Senior Yorkie Talker | pet insurance I'm trying to find the best pet insurance for honey bun (who will be a yr soon) so what better way to search then to ask my favorite people to review their insurance. Please tell me who you have and what they cover. Thanks: nakiah

| Insurance I have Trupanion and am very happy with it. You can choose the deductible and thus the cost. I have heard that Pets Best and Healthy Paws are good too.....hope I got the names right. If you Google Pet Insurance you can probably get the comparison list. I have zero deductible and they pay 90% of vet bills, tests, meds etc, they even pay 50% of prescription food costs. I only had insurance for my one year old for about six months and they covered the necessary expensive cataract surgery. I have to initially pay the vet costs, but reimbursement is very quick...and I never get any problems. They do not cover routine things or the vet visit costs. It is important that the dog has no existing conditions!! My insurance covers hereditary conditions like luxating patellla etcetera ( if not presexisting at the time!), that is important too. If I did not have zero deductible, Trupanion has the deductible for each condition, not per year.....and that could be an issue. But There is only one deductible per condition. Some insurances have yearly or lifetime limits, TP has no limits. This is a very complex decision and it depends on what you want from insurance and what you can afford to pay. One thing is clear to me and that is.....it is an excellent idea!! My dog's cataract issues have been very costly! I have had only one fee increase in 5 years, and in general the fee does not increase with age, but depends on the current vet cost averages in any area. Good luck with the research, and I hope others will give their experiences and input to aid you in the decision! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I used to have PetPlan, but now have Healthy Paws - I like the way Healthy Paws does their deductibles - but I think they're both good companies.

| I have Embrace for Remy. I covered him for illness & injury and also have their wellness plan. You choose the ded, annual limit and % amt you want to pay. There are so many insurance out there and you just have to research and pick what is best for you.
