YT 500 Club Member | Asking for Good Thoughts And Prayers Asking for prayers. I got a puppy Sammie 1 month ago. He has done this quick cough at least 3-4 times a day. I am bringing him to the vet today to see if it is definetely collapse trachea. If it is, I might considering returning him. Believe me I do not want to and my husband and daughter will not probably forgive me but here is my story. I put a dog down 3 years ago due to CT and I swore I would never go through that again. Then three years I got the strength up to do it again only to might of gotten another dog with CT. I am praying that she can give me positive information to help me change my mind. I try to research online but I get good stories that dogs live normal long lives with it and not so good stories. I just worry if he is showing signs at 5 months what will he be like by next year. Thanks for all your positive thoughts. |

| Sending prayers your way. Laddy has reverse sneeze and I worried a lot that it was the other but so far he has done well. He is almost 6 years old now.

| Fingers crossed that it is not CT. It is always so difficult to make decisions like that because they already are part of your family. I'm praying it is something simple and treatable so you and your family will not have to make a decision that will hurt you all and your Sammie.

YT 500 Club Member | Thanks for all your good thoughts. She did say it probably is CT but her 27 years as a vet she never had to put one down due to it. She said they usually die of something else. She said even though he is young does not mean it will progress faster. It could stay as a quick cough. She said she has a dog that has had it since he was a puppy and is 10 and doing fine. More dogs do fine with CT then not. So lets hope sammie is one of them!! She said there is no guarantee with any dog. I could get another dog and he might have diabetes. So it looks like she talked me into keeping the sweet boy. Well my husband also said he would divorce me LOL |
